Hello. I have been reading up about storyline missions and higher level mission agents for things like mining, and combat.
I am wondering how do i increase my standings with a faction to get story line mission and increase the level of agents i can get missions from becuase at the moment i have acess to level 2 mission agents but i cant seem to get my standings higher then 1.25
You will be offered a storyline mission every ten or so security missions you do. Same for mining and distribution missions, but the number may be higher. So keep doing missions and you’ll get the storylines eventually.
A better option is to run the career agents. The final step of each career agent counts as a storyline and will give a big chunk of standings. You can quickly do all the career missions in a venture except for the two that require you to have your ship blown up.
Storylines are given every 16 missions of the same level and faction of who your running for.
Faction standing does not govern how often you get them.
You can increase your standings for missions by training skills. Social increases the amount of standings per level
Connections modifies the standings. So L3 needs 3.00 standings. I think the base is 1.65 and with connections at V it’ll be 3.00
Mining missions are also the slowest way to gain standings, and security is the fastest.
Unless you are jumping to different corporations, you can stay in one corp to mine for and do security and as you gain standings with that corp, you’ll have access to higher levels
Though I dont think the punishment has changed for storylines. They give you faction standing but they also affect others negatively
i did all the mission i could for the career agent i found for mining (5 of 5) and after that i could not get any more from then so i been doing the missions from a lvl 2 agent directly and have done like 11 so far
I see. I just like doing the mining because i have a limited time each day i can play so i log in and do like 1-2 hours of mining and most of the ships i have atm are mining ships and i am training in skill to do like security missions but for now mining is what i am doing while i wait
Nothing wrong with doing what you like, I was just letting you know. But just mine for the corp and dont pay attention to the faction standing
oh i plan on doing that. the main reason i am just doing mining now is i am learning about the rep, i want to understand how to unlock storyline mission, how to increase standings and other mechanics before i start moving from mining to other things like the security missions, what skills to train for what ships and weapons and other things. I dont want to rush but most information in find online is not 100% clear
Consider joining EVE Uni, they do classes and everything.
Their wiki is also a good source of information.

If you like mining, then mining ore for yourself either to sell or to refine is much more profitable than mining for missions.
But they wont get standings doing it that way
i mine to sell but i am trying to find a way to compress it without always having to go to a player station to do so
