The 2D Star Map has been live for quite a while now, yet it still lacks functionality to display jump ranges for jump-capable vessels. The 3D Star Map already renders clear visual indicators for all systems within my ship’s maximum jump radius, which is essential for capital and Black Ops navigation planning.
Forcing players to constantly swap between 2D and 3D views just to check cyno jump reach completely negates the convenience of the streamlined 2D layout. I sincerely ask the dev team to host a design workshop to implement jump range rendering on the 2D Star Map as soon as possible.
Here is my simple, non-intrusive implementation proposal that will not break the minimalist visual style of the 2D map:
Add a toggleable setting in the 2D Star Map panel named “Show Jump Range”. This toggle should only activate when piloting jump-capable ships, including Black Ops Battleships and all capital vessels (Titans, Carriers, Supercarriers, Dreadnoughts, Force Auxiliaries).
When this option is enabled, all reachable systems within the ship’s jump radius will get a subtle white outline/stroke around their system icons on the 2D map. This lightweight visual cue preserves the clean layout of the 2D Star Map while delivering the critical navigation information pilots need without switching to the 3D view
