Suggest adding the function of deleting loss records

I have been playing EVE for over ten years Starting from Chinese servers

After deleting countless characters I have experienced all the content and mechanisms of EVE

As a pure PVE player I never attack other players in high security

Even in a null sec space I still don’t like fighting with players

But don’t misunderstand

I am well aware that the PVP content of this game has supported over 20 years of operation

It is also the core content of this game PVP is crucial Large daily losses of ships and equipment

Only then can we maintain good market prices and order

So when I lost a ship I won’t mind The total value of this ship
But this loss record It’s like putting a nail in the butt Pain in the ass

It will always exist Like a trauma from the past that cannot be forgotten

So I would to make this suggestion Create a new feature

Loss records can be deleted
For example, records destroyed by NPCs can be deleted for free

destroyed by players require payment of some PLEX Or ISK

This can introduce new ways of consumption Promote game revenue

This will not hinder any player’s game play style

It can also make players like me enjoy playing games more

So maybe others don’t care about this matter at all But increasing new revenue is not a bad thing

Leave your opinions

How would you ‘delete a loss record’?

what do you mean?

Your losses within the game itself could perhaps be deleted, but what happens if other people involved in the loss take the record and share it outside the game?

How do you delete something from the internet?

There’s really no big problem with their persistence.

I have a terrible killboard but it hasn’t affected my gameplay, and I’m struggling to see how it would unless I was applying to some corporation which I wouldn’t really do anyway.

I won’t to do any intervene other players Whether it’s sharing records or recording videos

This is their game content and fun
I just want the official to create a feature to delete records from my own account

So if I understand correctly you want to be able to delete the records in this particular tab of your character?

What good does that do, if I may ask?

I rarely ever look at that tab, so losses and wins there don’t really impact me.

How does it impact you?

The main thing that impacts me about losses is that I need to buy a replacement ship, but you cannot really ‘delete’ that.

Yes, that’s the record I delete characters every time there is a loss record

Because I suffer from severe bipolar disorder That is to say, depression and mania

also suffer from very, very severe obsessive-compulsive disorder

So these records are like painful memories Never forget
Even if I don’t check it out My brain also frequently records these things

Take it out and abuse myself

So there is an old saying in China 眼不见 心不烦 Translate into English

If you can’t see these, you won’t be bothered

So I sincerely need this deletion function I am willing to pay

don’t look at them as painful memories, but more like learning curves to do better.

While you can ask for such a feature, it can also help to look at the losses in a different way.

For me they are fun memories.

That Taranis on top was when my alliance gave our old Keepstar in Delve a viking funeral. I took the ship to fly halfway across the universe in order to get to the Keepstar in time before the explosion and made some mistake losing transversal against some other group that was around. Oops. I docked my pod and had a nice view from inside the Keepstar though during it’s final minutes. Did you know there are flashing warnings within structures on most of the hologram billboards when the structure’s shield, armor or hull takes damage? I do now!

The second loss, the Proteus, was my first Ghost site. I wanted to give it a try and overestimated my tank, having flown T3Cs against NPCs more often. I knew the NPCs would bugger off after a short time of shooting me, but it was more damage than I expected and even though I overheated it was just enough damage to take my ship down. I adjusted my Proteus fit after that and gave it stronger repairs!

The Nemesis was a fun fight against Pandemic Legion in Querious where I often did mining, ratting and defending merc dens and Skyhooks against the many hostiles who lived within Blood Raider stations in Delve. In this case we had some fun shooting a small group who I believe was shooting a Metenox Moon drill of ours. We managed to scare them off, but suddenly the Raptor went in and tackled my Nemesis as the rest of his group jumped into the system and the rest of our bombers warped off to safety as we couldn’t take them all in a brawl. Rip.

Each of them a fun memory, even the losses!

Why would you want to erase history, remove your mistakes?

As someone with manageable OCD, I understand your feelings and sympathize.

That said, you are unlikely to ever get this requested feature. So, may I suggest an alternate approach:

Lose a bunch of ships intentionally. Like, a lot of them (10-20). They don’t have to be expensive ships. T1 frigates will do. Fit them up, take them to dangerous space, and try to get them blown up on purpose. Do this every time you suffer an unintentional loss. This will do two things:

  1. Act as exposure therapy to your loss aversion. After some time, you may not feel so bad about losing a ship. And,
  2. It will fill your losses window with losses that are not mistakes. You won’t feel bad when you look at them, because you meant to lose those ships.

Thank you I can understand what you mean

A therapy similar to using poison to attack poison

For example, cutting a scar on the wrist To get used to this scar Cut every inch of the skin on the whole body again

This is how I spent my life in reality The cost is the execution of multiple suicides But obviously it didn’t succeed

So I’m just living this miserable life Faced with this loss record
Torture → Madness → Calm down → Delete character → Start again

This is my ten-year EVE process

I see in zkillboard that you had this cycle for multiple characters. One loss, biomass the character and start again.

But one version of your character managed to live for a much longer time, racking up kills and losses over the course of a few months. What was different then?

There is a saying: “The worst thing that’s ever happened to you is the worst thing that’s ever happened to you.”

Meaning that something in your life may be “traumatic” only because nothing worse has ever happened to you. When we are 14, something may happen to us that was “the most terrible thing ever.” When we look back on it at 40, we see “it wasn’t that big of a deal.” Time and experience give us perspective. The more adversity you endure, the more adversity you can endure, and the less meaningful any small setback.

How significant is losing a spaceship in a video game, compared to nearly losing your life? I think all you need is a slight change of perspective.

If you want to find gratitude in your own life, if you want to gain perspective, examine closely the lives of those much worse off than yourself.

EDIT to clarify:

No. Exposure therapy is like treating a fear of spiders by progressively exposing oneself to spiders:

  1. First, be in the same room as a spider in a jar.
  2. Then sit at a table with the spider in a jar.
  3. Then hold the jar with the spider in it.
  4. Then hold the spider in your hand without the jar.
  5. Then cuddle on the couch with the spider while watching a romantic comedy.

(I’m just kidding with that last one.)

That was the only time I tried to get used to it The process is very painful

Even if we harvest a lot of isk Spent a lot of money Used to buy Omega Bought many favorite skins Because the new loss record

still deleted the character Uncontrollable OCD

But I still want one that costs a few dollars delete the record I really don’t want to delete the character anymore
This problem has been insurmountable for ten years, and I have been trying every time

Finally, I came up with this solution and came to the forum

You want CCP to fix what is entirely a personal problem?

Your OCD is fifty billion percent your issue, not something for others to compensate for.

You’re deleting characters whenever they get a loss in a game designed around you losing stuff.

Thread muted, this topic isn’t going anywhere productive.

This is EVE, not Call of Duty. No one cares what your kd/r is……

Okay. But realistically, CCP is not going to give you what you’re asking for. It’s antithetical to the nature of EVE. So what I would recommend is, if you’re unwilling or unable to overcome this obsession with loss mails, there’s no sense torturing yourself further. You should go find another game in which full loot PVP is not a feature. There should be plenty out there to choose from.
