Suggestions:
PVE Missions: General
1) Side Hustles:
Add a randomized chance that a mission location (or pocket) has something interesting that doesn't show up on the system map. They can still be scanned down though. This would typically be a low chance of these showing up, with some missions having a higher chance, but these would never be a guaranteed.
Maybe it's a Data site. (Any added NPCs would be faction or rogue drones)
Maybe it's a Relic site. (Any added NPCs would be faction or pirates)
Maybe it's a rare unmapped asteroid belt of non-region specific ores. (Any added NPCs would be pirates)
Maybe, even rarer: it's combination of any or all of the above.
Turning the mission in loses these sites, so something to consider.
NPC ships would be increased if these exist, so the mission would be "harder."
Dead-space warp gates should be limited against Ore Barges/Exhumers/Orcas.
Several high-sec Security missions used to have rare belts all the time, but these have been removed over time. This would add a bit of that mechanic back, but not have a certainty of finding anything special, and spreads it out.
2) Loyalty Point / Standings award changes:
Tie the Loyalty Point rewards to the mission bonus, not completion. Coming in before the bonus time showed the corporation that you are paying attention to what that corp. needs, so might have the interests of the corp. in mind.
The Agent/Corporation/Faction standings would also be affected by the expiration of the bonus timer:
The agent should have a standings penalty. (They have to look good for their superiors if they want a promotion.)
The corporation will not give a standings boost or penalty.
The faction gives only half standings award since they are happy that the job was done, but not happy that the mission corp. is grumbling.
(The Caldari Navy needed this objective done in 2 hours, while the Caldari State is happy that it was done.)
This would add another thing to concider if finding something that may be too juicy to pass up. (See Side Hustles)
PVE Missions: Distribution
1) **Hijacked Delivery:**
Setup: Some poor (NPC) shlep was ambushed in his hauler, but was able to get their position out before they went silent.
Objective: Go out, retrieve the cargo, and the captain DoA, and return.
Optional: Kill any rats that may be about.
Bonus consequence: The captain was injured during his fight, and only had a finite amount of time before he corpsifies.
Side Hustle: There was something in that location that drew the NPC rats to that position in the first place, and the hauler just stumbled upon them.
This would have a higher chance that the PVE Mission Side Hustle would exist.
2) **Research Station Resupply:**
Setup: A station is in desperate need for resupply, but the dead-space warp gate leading to it has been damaged and large ships can no longer get through. (No haulers)
Objective: Get [ x ]m3 cargo to a partially cut of Deadspace facility. Cargo is in several much smaller segments, since it my require multiple trips with smaller ships.
Optional: The gate was damaged by rats, kill them.
Bonus consequences: Some people on the cut off facility either starved or succomed to injuries without the timely arrival of the food/medical aid that was being transported
Side Hustle: Regular chance at a side hustle, but a higher chance that it would be an asteroid belt.
Has a Follow Up Security mission.
PVE Missions: Security
1) **Defend Warp Gate Repair:**
*NOTE: Can be given normally, or as a follow up mission to the distribution mission: Research Station Resupply*
Objective:
1) Deliver some maintenance workers to a maintenance facility put in place to repair a damaged dead-space warp gate. (Same location as before if this is the follow-up mission)
2) Defend the facitily from the waves of NPC rats
Optional: None
Bonus consequences: None really, but the research station would have been operating at reduced capacity until complete, so there would be some dasappointment by mission giver.
Side Hustle: None, the important bit was beyond the gate, which is shut down for repairs.
PVE Missions: Mining
Nothing special added except for a possible Side Hustle. Sent out to get some bandine, found that and gneiss as well. (Just had to kill the rats.)
