Suicide ganking is way too low risk, change my mind

Questioning the signs of psychganopaths in highsec was a topic that delivered proof that a ganker holds various traits to suggest they are very much similar.

Results also show in other games.

I can assure you none of the gankers I know in EVE are sociopaths. ASPD is a specific clinical diagnosis with a number of clear traits, and gankers like Aiko don’t display these. EVE is a video game, killing people in video games is no indication of personality disorders IRL.

Clearly there are some ganks in the past showing lack of empathy.

There is a better way to handle PvP in highsec, we need more scrutiny over what needs to be changed to help not drive newcomers away.

Frostpacker, you are very much not in the right here. I would even go so far as to say you are the one who is displaying a clear lack of empathy.

Do I think someone multi-boxing 34 catalysts to n+1 brute force their way past CONCORD is problematic? Yes, very much so. However, what you are doing is so much infinitely worse. Please go touch grass and remember that, at the end of the day, Eve is just a game, and real life is real life.

I’m not prepared to discuss my concerns of where this discussion is headed .

So we may have a clearer understanding, what am I doing that is so much worse?

You’re absolutely right.

Never said that, you are just making excuses

Demanding that the gankers stop

The whole thing is about how much gankers had changed from bumping and screening who are the miner bot aspirants and who are there for real.

Thank you, just to add to that suggestion.

When out on a mining belt, there can be a delay between filling your Ore hole so this offers the perfect opportunity for an extra layer of protection against gankers.

If and when a Miner in Highsec only opens their NES Store to carry out some Window Shopping.

This will then apply an a buff to Miners Hull to prevent from being targeted.

The only downside is no ore can be Mined while the NES Store Window is Open

Nope. You’re just going to have to become a better player or lose more ships.

We had extracted the best skills from the best pilots of Highsec.

I don’t even have to try in Highsec anymore.

Best argument in the entire thread.

They should change the name to AikoSec.

Problem solved.

Only if you announce that you are cooling things down before you blow everyone up.

I’ve been keeping an eye on this forum for some time now, but I haven’t really had a reason to respond to it. I’ve been playing online for 18 years now, with breaks in between. In all these years, my characters have been ganked in total of 10 times. However, I see a clear difference between 2020 and 2025. Where it still was possible to put your character on autopilot through high-sec, to a point that’s now simply impossible. Your ship get ganked if it has 50 million modules. A group of five coercers attacks your autopilot tengu that’s on autopilot. They couldn’t have ganked you if you were in front of the computer at that moment. And getting a killright is a band-aid on the wounds, because those toons only fly coercers anyway. High-sec ganking is becoming more popular because it’s so easy to do. We all know that fair PVP (like the wardec) is almost impossible in eve, and especially in high-sec. It’s therefore a very easy way to get killmails. There’s a visible upward trend that CCP is maintaining by maintaining an outdated system.

Such as: Autopilot 12 km before the jump gate (0 km can be perfect because ships still need to aline)

Being able to buy endless concord tags and repair standing (one time by year max)

By rewarding gankers for their ganks through drops. (I’ve seen ganks that don’t cover their losses. If that’s not important, then the loot should also be left behind)

Absurd and demonstrably false. Ganking has fallen off a cliff since 2020, and that was well below the activity in 2016.

I understand that you’re looking out for your own interests. I still have a 5-day kill right on you.

And so are you.

As neither a ganker and neither someone who gets ganked I have no interests here, and recall that the last time someone posted real data on the trend of ganking over the last decade was going downward.

I’m too lazy to search for it now, but if you have anything indicating the trend of ganking is upwards instead I would love to see it.

Don’t grief Aiko. How will she undock now that she has to worry you’ll gank her?

There is a perfectly realistic way. It is called mining in the middle of nowhere. There are many systems where there is literally nobody else there. When I mined in 0.5 Azerakish, I was the only person in the entire system…enjoying some of the largest asteroid belts in all of EVE. I’d have been highly suspicious if anyone who might be a gank scout came within 100km….and I always mined far from the belt landing point.

I’d say try it yourself. Send your hauler with 100 mil in loot to Jita and see how many times you get shot.
