Suicide ganking is way too low risk, change my mind

100% chance of being exploded by CONCORD: 100% risk.

Risk implies that the result is unknown. A 100% chance isn’t a risk, it’s a certainty.

Yep, being blown up by CONCORD is a result of made decision.

But the same is apply the side who was targeted. Getting blown up (ganked) in highsec is not a risk, but a result of pilot decision which lead to that result.

The kill isn’t a certainty though, so you’re guaranteed ship loss at no guaranteed success.

I’d call that a risk.

It’s weird how these miners are continually engaging in some kind of semantic argument to somehow argue that ganking isn’t a risk. Like, ok? I guess I’m gonna say that Highsec mining is NOT A RISK, because you have a 100% certainty of mining, END OF DISCUSSION.

Eating my popcorn and watching the universe burn = Iskies in my pocket.

As I said before: too few consequences for gankers. I advocate for twice-yearly CONCORD standing repair through ARC missions. If you want to gank in high sec, there’s a price. Gankers will pay more attention to their actions.

What is this obsession that you lot have with the word ‘consequences’ ?

The simple fact is that any action anyone undertakes is an action that is open to anyone in the game. Nobody gets permanently assigned as a ‘miner’ or a ‘hauler’ on day #1. And if they do end up stuck with that of their own accord…well then….’consequences’…eh !

That person could just as easily have chosen to be a ganker themselves. That is what makes the game fair and makes all this ‘consequences’ stuff utter BS when presented so one sided. If you want ‘consequences’….well then deciding to be a miner has its own. Deal with it !

Come on! Everything in this game has a limit. That’s why it’s absurd that players can buy an infinite number of CONCORD TAGS to repair their standings. No standing is as easy to repair as the security standing, and that’s why it’s not fairly distributed compared to other types of standings. Everyone knows you can only do an ARC mission two times a year. Or a COSMOS mission can only be done once, to give a few examples.

That’s totally absurd. Most standings…..including security status…can be fixed via missions, anomalies, PVE, etc. You don’t have to ‘buy’ clone tags. You can hunt them down in lowsec and pay nothing. And if you do pay for them, well that’s 45m ISK for a tag that just increases your status by a mere 0.5. Given that every other status type fix is free ( and security status can be too ) but one has to PAY to use clone tags…where is the unfairness ?

sir, are you aware that said suicide ganking comes with the price of death? What is low risk about being blown up?

Risk of failure of the gank. When the gank starts, the outcome is almost always predetermined.

That’s nonsense.

Maybe. However, that’s the general perception of those who complain about it.

I’m so good, I make it look easy!

Probably. Yes. If your failure rate was higher, victim’s perception would be different.

Does anybody ever complain when the gank fails?

Opinions should be based on evidence, rather than vibes.

No it isn’t. I escaped a gank only yesterday. I spotted that I was being locked and I docked up before they could fire a shot. Also I’m not sure 3 Tornadoes would have successfully ganked my Loki….perhaps if all 3 delivered full alpha but that rarely happens.

just to correct you: they can’t.

They can only buy what is on the market. Or use what they do farm themselves.

So grab your guns and kill Clone Soldiers, making sure those tags don’t get available to gankers. Grab your purse and buy off all those tags from the market and trash them to make sure no ganker can repair his standing with them. Even a rather small group of veterans could fund that operation, it’s a few billion ISK daily. Nothing a coordinated industry chain of veterans wouldn’t fund easily. I could probably fund it solo if I wanted.

But no one does it. So the problem seems to be non-existing or easily to dodge.
