In a rational World - yes. However, we are not living in a rational World. We are living in primarily emotional and subjective one. From global politics to everyday personal decisions - everything is based on personal perception.
Wtf?
You might not be rational, but the rest of us areā¦
The very fact that video games exist at all is based on the fact that humans are not rational, that we prefer emotions and our perception of reality and priorities in life ![]()
All I know is you openly admit to being irrational. That probably explains why everybody here is disagreeing with you.
Thatās your personal perception
I love when people confirm what Iām saying.
Ok, well Iām still gankingā¦
Well Iām not stopping you ![]()
And yeah⦠if you still think that I have something against you or ganking, scroll through my posts and analyze them again. The only things Iām pointing out are that there is a different perception off ganking than yours and the potential consequences it produces on the player base. Just a different perspective to break the echo chamber and get out of survivorship bias.
Iām a survivor.
Iāve escaped gank attempts.
Me too. Iāve even hauled for Red Frog Freight for a while without a single loss. Iām just trying to clarify what others mean by āthere is no riskā. No one sees CONCORD loss as a risk, they see it as already calculated in investment.
By your questionable logic, it is only āriskā if there is a chance of ship loss. Therefore, what you are arguing is that gankers should be able to escape Concord, and thus be able to incur āriskā. Iām not sure many hi-sec dwellers will support your premise, but Iām fairly confident that many gankers in this discussion will.
Not exactly. The risk comes from the risk of not being able to achieve your intention/goal - the risk of a failed gank attempt. Ship loss to CONCORD is already guaranteed and calculated in before the gank, so thatās not a risk, thatās an investment. The risk is in failing to cash in that investment by failing to successfully execute a gank.
And, like I said, itās not my logic, itās what others are trying to say.
You clarified that these views are irrational.
I agree.
A bit of life advice: say what you think and what you mean.
Itās irrational to say things you donāt think.
Itās not my place to manipulate market prices. Besides, gankers are making a fortune with their activities. Theyāre making kills you and I can only dream of.
Personally, I donāt think ganking (in high sec) should be allowed, because players need the enable to use save zones. Almost every online game has a place where you canāt attack, but wellā¦not in EVE ONLINE. Iām responding here because I think ganking should be punished more severely. I also suggested that security standing could only be repaired twice a year. That seems much more reasonable to me than paying off CONCORD with tags every time.
Your choice. Donāt complain if you are unwilling to use the options the game offers you because⦠reasonsā¦
I donāt dream of making kills any more. I only support my group right now and wouldnāt even undock if they have something tackled they can kill without me. I absolutely couldnāt care less for juicy kills any more, I care for logistics, strategic concepts and internal organization schematics. One of the great things EVE offers beyond āflying around shooting with spaceshipsā. Because itās a mass multiplayer online game. Not some solo grind title.
Nonetheless I respect others professionalizing in killing stuff and being successful with it. So, every kill the gankers make is well earned.
And that is why many players are here. If someone doesnāt like it, there are enough other games out there, as you rightly said. Chose one of these.
So itās basically about jealousy for you?
what would you suggest as an appropriate level of punishment?
Maybe stop flying air tanked ships full of treasure? Stop paying permits. Make ganking not profitable? Nooooo⦠it is too complex⦠lets just complainā¦
If you are unhappy when PvE ship lost to PvP, should we complain about PvP ships lost to PvE or nullsec PvE ships (like capitals) lost to PvP? Just wasted PvP tengu to NPC. But not crying, that was my mistake as a pilot who had to learn it this way.
BTW, if it is so easy, simple and not time consuming. Why not to join Ganking? Make infinite amount of wealth in no time and study how it works in reality (not in your head). Try it by your self instead of crying and complaining like a baby who is unhappy because they imagined that Mom will put spoon one cm left but she doesnāt.
See the thing is, this is EVE, there are no PvE ships.
To be clearer you can fit a ship to do PvE things in EVE, but that doesnāt mean the PvP goes away, and thus you need to be better at the PvP, i.e. be aware of whatās going on around you and be prepared to avoid other players who will be fit specifically to destroy you.
and thatās the best part about EVE.
