Suicide ganking is way too low risk, change my mind

It’s not a coincidence that the majority of ganks occur in 0.5 to 0.6 space. Most gank groups don’t have enough pilots to go after tankier targets in 0.7-0.9 space, as it would require upwards of 25+ stealth bombers and result in a loss on any passive tanked ships with <1 billion ISK in modules.

Gankers can’t generally operate at a loss indefinitely.

What is your intention sharing this information?

To me it comes across as:

“It’s not a coincidence that a chain breaks at the weakest link”
“It’s not a coincidence that a river treads out of it’s bounds at the lowest bank”

or in EVE terms:

“It’s not a coincidence that a refiner refines at the structure with the highest refining bonuses”

Yes… that is not a coincidence. But what’s the point?

What are you trying to tell us, that gankers too care about efficiency? Is this a surprise?

That the risk of getting ganked in high-sec is highly exaggerated. The reason gankers primarily hunt in 0.5 and 0.6 space is so they can get away with ganking larger targets with relatively small (<10 member) gangs. These small gangs will usually bounce off most passive fits.

Outside of Uedama and Jita, there are few if any gank groups that regularly bring 40+ gank ships against a single target. So Jita is the one 0,9 exception to this rule.

I’m still trying to find any properly fit passive-tanked Marauders that have been killed (0.5-0.9 security). They’re almost all paper-thin/active tanks.

I was trying to figure out why you had so many corvette losses to CONCORD and then it occurred to me that you’re drawing CONCORD away in those systems…

Sounds like an exploit.

Yeah, we should probably ban it, lol.

Having CONCORD spawned somewhere else in that system incurs an additional ~+35% delay.

So what you are saying, is that Marauders need a nerf?

Shield/armor/hull bonuses… toast, MJD … toast, active rep bonus … nerfed, bastion cycle … nerfed, Vargur … nerfed. Probably forgot something, but basically the FC nerf bat has “Marauder” printed down the side.

It doesn’t matter how many nerfs they already had. What matters is that you yourself said:

Clearly, more nerfs are needed so that properly fit ships also die.

No, we just need to get the word out on how to properly fit your ships in high-sec. And start hunting you bandits… :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

nO, PLEASE, don’t hunt me in your marauder!!!

:fearful:

Hey, you gankers may have just inspired me to change my play style… :pirate_flag:
I’m not saying that I’m “gunning” for you… not yet. But maybe soon…

Let’s say I empathize and we take this comment at face value. Don’t you think that low-sec bears the most responsibility for destroying PvP content in high-sec and low-sec? Low-sec was given the keys to a Ferrari and they treated it like a lawnmower.

By perma gate-camping entrances from high-sec into low-sec and literally shooting anything that moves - they effectively relegated players to high-sec. Players remained in high-sec and sought-out new income opportunities, joined the blob in null-sec or ventured out into wormhole space.

Sure, let’s talk about high-sec. What “PvP” opportunities have been removed from high-sec? We were talking about PvP - yes?

The largest alternative legal PvP opportunity in HS space used to be wars.

But with the introduction of ‘war-immune corporations’ the amount of players that are immune to that form of PvP has become pretty huge.

I think it has been a nice idea to make certain corporations immune to wars so that players aren’t forced to stay in NPC corps to have that effect. But I honestly think it would be better if FCCP had added the default NPC tax to any war-immune corporation so that players have a meaningful choice between being war-immune or being tax-immune, and not both.

That way we’d probably see more PvP-eligible players in HS than today.

The largest abusive PvP mechanics in high-sec used to be wars. You can blame null-sec completely for this. I can’t remember the exact numbers than CCP referenced at the time, but it was something like 85% of all high-sec wardecs were being done by a single alliance - and the top 5 number of wardecs were all by null-sec.
