I only tell the truth, and the bus has been paying gankers since its inception. Back when James 315 started the bus project, our goal was to create a ‘newbro friendly’ service which would scam carebears out of their hardearned isk as they donated to fund the bus. This is simply the truth.
Or your version of it… ![]()
More like the bus project was just another Eve Scam.
You can spam that drivel till the cows come home and still doesn’t make it true.
It is a scam, I’ve been saying that for years!
I’d love to have people just randomly go suspect for 5 minutes. A Concord glitch. Every hour you are online you’d have maybe a 1% chance of this happening. It would also be a great way of eliminating the bots.
¿? you earn tons of ISK in HS and have basically no losses if you aren’t stupid. Instead of needing PLEX you should be able to omega your account(s) with PLEX just from HS grinding.
Again your old problem. You just ‘want’ something without a proper plan to survive. Placing and holding structures is for groups who can fight and can bring numbers. All you need is to make sure the attackers lose a handful of ships worth 3x more than the Athanor fit. And that is very easily achievable with a proper doctrine and FC. Do that a few times and they won’t come back as their wardecs will result in a huge net loss every time.
Why doing such a stupid thing even a single time?
Sry man, all that shows a lack of strategical thinking and combat experience. Before trying to build and keep your own structures, maybe join a group that is able to do that successfully and learn how it’s done?
@Glenduil isn’t wrong about wardecs. The previous version was literally cancer, as one group was responsible for something like 85%+ of all high-sec wardecs.
The latest incarnation isn’t much better, because it specifically targets structures. The end result isn’t much different than what happens in null-sec between large and small groups.
It’s not worth it to deploy a structure as a small group anymore (for reasons mentioned). Now maybe that was CCP’s intention at the time to reduce high-sec structure proliferation, but the reality is now that the majority of high-sec structures are owned by null-sec alliances or large groups that most small groups couldn’t possibly defend themselves against - let alone prevail in a high-sec war.
I think a meaningful change would be to allow the defender in a wardec to prolong the war, even after their structure is destroyed. This would allow them to group up with other defenders, and provide some resistance to the blob. It’s a shame CCP doesn’t make some kind of player focus group, let’s call it the Council of Stellar Insight (CSI) which would allow them to hear and consider such ideas.
This thread was almost dead…almost. ![]()
It’s the only way to prevent structures being spammed endlessly troughout HS. You obviously can’t “gank” them, so wardecs are a proper way to make sure only those can hold and maintain them who can win fights around them.
And yes, most groups lose them to attackers like BF because they simply can’t fight. Not because it is impossible to hold them. The mindset of those people is just that of a “I-am-in-HS-so-everyone-should-leave-me-alone” guy.
I can pretty much guarantee you that if you can cause 10B in losses for BF over trying to raze your Athanor, they don’t come back many times and pick easier targets to farm the cores and citadel fits with their wardecs. It’s a business concept, all you have to do is to make it unprofitable, which isn’t that hard with properly applying the mechanics of HS.
I never understood why a group of ~10 HS players need a structure anyway? They can perfectly stage from any NPC station. The economic penalties in HS are so high that you can’t compete in industry with T2-rigged Nullsec production anyway. And if you really want, place a POS, you can build, research and invent there just fine and nobody will wardec you over it.
If a very small group wants to hold an own station, place it in a wormhole, where any attacking BF fleet risks to end up in a trap and being totally obliterated by a thirdparty. Usually enough to scare them off.
Yes, I did allude to that possibly being CCP’s intent at the time.

Well, before the core requirement and when structures were cheaper - I did have one setup just for cheap repairs.
You set up a multibillion ISK station that even requires fuel to save peanut amounts from the repairs in an NPC station? You know you can also just refit to a repper to repair for free, even for hull? Or just warp to any other Upwell Station that tethers or lets you dock, it will also repair you for free.
Sry man, but thats just another example of some totally unreasonable decision and you somehow are of the opinion that the game should work differently so that stuff would somehow “work out”? Really?
Well, this is taken a bit out of context. This was when structures were first rolled out - so they weren’t very expensive, ie: 500m ISK or so. Second, the repairs worked whether they were offline or not - so it wasn’t a huge expenditure. And I mean, everyone and their dog was trying them out - being a new feature and all.
Do I have a structure today? No. Have I had one for years? Also no. Would I roll one out today? Hell no. And hey, cut me some slack, ok? ![]()
Yea, this was the time between the introduction of structures and the fixes to structure proliferation.
For a while people could easily hold structures, too easily. That has been fixed now.
You can’t blame players for CCP’s unintended consequences… Structures still need a lot of work.
Structures definitely need more work.
But I don’t think they should be any easier to place and have than they are now.
The thread will be dead only when we finally change OP’s mind about ganking.
If they did that, what else would we have to talk about on the forums? ![]()
Topic moved to Crime and Punishment.
Sadly the people being hunted didn’t find it fun, and whinged enough to get it nerfed out of existence.
There’s no accounting for taste.
