Does this mean that you assume nobody would gank if killmails and zkillboard did not exist?
Because I doubt that this assumption is correct.
Some gankers may be in it for killmails, but others may be in it for the thrill, for the loot, for the reactions or just for the fun of shooting spaceships, rather than for killmails.
I think the wardec system could be expanded and improved on. And not necessarily from a “legal way to attack gankers” aspect. I think small corps (and small corps only) should have the ability to wage limited war on similarly-sized corporations.
Still sounds like scam even if it’s true.. … You need to improve your marketing skill.. Use the word like “I don’t gank miners with permits” instead of" I’ll kill all the miners"..
I remember being a bit disappointed to not see one gank attempt on my mining ship in my first weeks in EVE.
I was paying attention to local and my overview and all, while reading up on the game on the side. Or at least I thought I did.
Bored I eventually looked for more dangerous space and went to live in null sec.
There I too tried to mine and pay attention, yet imnlmediately lost a few ships to enemies and learned about things like cloaks.
In hindsight I realized that I would never have seen a gank attempt in HS: killing newbies where I was mining in Arnon is prohibited. I didn’t know that.
Hopefully Exordium makes this ‘newbie protection’ a lot clearer, and brings more excitement to the players who choose to leave it.
Not that I mind not being ganked, moving to null has been a good choice anyway for me. I like the lack of NPC laws.
Some and in some I mean most are obsessed by KB and KM its sad.
I guess some folk need to find an outlet for their frustration, i know one ganker had all the toilets in the kingdom named after him, must be a hard life
A new player getting ganked in high-sec can also end up thinking: “I can’t mine, haul, explore or undock without someone deleting me". Even old player who was ganked can find that this is not balanced.
Just rinsed SS with tags and ready to wipe out some specific ships (not for profit, pvp ships are cheap even with T2 fit). From my point of view this is even worse as there is no counterplay (except “do not be away of gate/dock more than 2km”). They can’t take revenge… no such mechanics (kill right is a joke).
A new player getting ganked can learn in 1 day how not to get ganked. He is often even told by the ganker what he did wrong and it is absolutely easy to avoid being a target.
That has absolutely nothing to do with being wardecced and attacked by blingships the attacker never loses, permanently camping you in and following you around with locator agents.
