Suspect timer for salvage yellow wreck

Taking the contents of a yellow box in HS gives you a suspect timer, so why not do the same thing with someone who salvages yellow wrecks for himself?

Salvage is first come, first serve.

If you wish to salvage the wrecks, salvage them sooner. It’s not like the wrecks salvage is worth much, unlike some loot.

A ship wreck doesnt belong to the player that destroyed it. The loot does however. Unless a player decides to abandon it, taking someone’s loot is a suspect action.

Salvage is a form of loot that in some cases is more valuable than the loot itself, and a simple T1 destroyer can deprive the person who create thoses wrecks.

The only cases when salvage is more valuable than the loot is if the loot is terrible.

Just be faster at salvaging if someone’s salvaging your wrecks!

You could:

  • salvage immediately after doing a site
  • skip the salvage, just drop a MTU and use the time you would have spent salvaging doing new sites (which probably pay better than the missed salvage)
  • kill him, but I guess it’s HS so it would require a gank
  • do sites elsewhere, away from the salvager
  • do sites outside HS where you can freely kill whoever dares to take your salvage
  • ask a friend or corp member to salvage your sites for an agreed upon portion of the payout

There are various solutions, pick one!

You’ve been able to salvage other people’s wrecks without penalty since before timers were a thing.

Almost like CCP intends for it to work that way.

Wrecks are litter, their contents are not.

Another reason to only deal in Nulsec

Or even better. Set out an MTU, then leave and go do another mission.

No one would ever possibly mess with your MTU…

Perfectly safe.

As for the OP.

First come, first serve, Sweety. If you want that salvage, either get on it quickly, or have an alt with a Hoover Vacuum. Or do the MTU thing… That’s the best option. Ever!

I’ve given up on most new players even knowing the definition of the word “effort”. Meh…
