Syndicate Breakout : Cheap Event

Hello everyone o7

This is an open letter to CCP — or FC, whatever name you decide to give yourselves tomorrow.

I’m not usually a forum guy, but enough is enough. Once again, you took us for fools.

Today, we got an event with lore that could have been genuinely interesting, with a lot of potential.

We started as an NPSI group to gather people and create content around the PvE event. Nullsec alliances also formed up to join the event and have fun with it. Some people were hyped enough to commit capital ships just for the RP aspect and the enjoyment of the experience.

So why the hell did you allow “tolerance” for cynos in high-sec??? Low-sec is literally one jump away, with insurgencies active!

And how is it possible that the empires are THIS cheap? I mean, okay, the fits clearly need help from the theorycrafting department, but are the empires really that poor? CAN WE DONATE ISK? Because full T2 supers? Are you kidding me? EVEN THE RIGS ARE T1!

Intaki has basically owned Syndicate since the beginning of time. And we still couldn’t get a proper show during EU prime time, with more ships involved, possible defense fleets supported by NPCs — not the pathetic outdated mission NPCs, but actual response fleets like the mining response or diamond fleets.

I was expecting AT LEAST something on the level of the Yulai attack during Empyrean Age — an event that felt like one of those incredible trailers from back then.

You’re sitting on a GOLDMINE: thousands of possibilities, yet you seem too shy to use your creativity and make truly memorable events. Do you actually need help setting up events that blow people’s minds? Writing articles is cool, making trailers is cool too… but now you need to create real in-game content.

Stop wasting time on failed FPS projects or other games nobody here cares about. We play EVE. We want EVE — spaceships, wars, destruction, and all the promises we’ve been waiting for YEARS… even a decade at this point.

Stop being afraid to blow things up. We want blood and steel.

And by holding the event in hisec, you also deprived participants of the opportunity to exercise any level of player direction for this event in this supposedly player-driven game. Concord is letting NPC titans into hisec, and allowing a caldari sponsored attack in gallente space, but still preventing players from shooting at each other if they wanted to try to defend the NPCs or just roleplay fighting against this caldari incursion into gallente space? I mean, come on.

What i would contest most is the lack of interactivity for P to P. Concord would just kick your ass down if you intervene on one side, which is somewhat just stupid. Hopefully the next one is one part high sec the other null/low sec

Name a more iconic duo than Fenris Creations and cocking up a live event.

what happened in high sec?

Yeah this was pretty bad, I’m annoyed I spent an hour positioning ships yesterday and alarm clocked for this.

You could have at least put it in low or null so we could have a chance to try and defend the ships, or made any sort of effort to allow for an outcome that wasn’t a glorified DPS race.

what bug me is i was only 5 jumps away and miss everything..

Well, as someone who spent 2.5 days trying to stage stuff between Outer Ring and Placid while living on the other side of the cluster, I get the frustration. But… it’s a game, and FC need to hamfist the background simulation into a shape that matches the upcoming mechanics changes. We’re sort of fortunate to get any kind of explanation for the expansion of the war.

In a narrative sense, the event is objectively stupid on many levels. This is not a narrative game, it’s an open-world PvP game that doesn’t have to maintain your suspension of disbelief. Devs are fighting players and people seem to be having fun. Hisec players would not otherwise have the chance to see capitals face to face, so it’s eye candy. Good marketing, not good writing. These folks are not paid to craft BAFTA winners.

If the event had popped off in null, it’s not like FC would escape criticism; it’s a losing proposition since someone will always be displeased. Same way NA players will always be an afterthought when it comes to events like these. Yet, this event actually seems to have improved in that regard.

So, I see your 2 cents and I call. :club_suit:

It’s a PVE event…so why should ‘players be allowed to shoot at each other even if they wanted to’? THIS is full PVP stupidity level. You are a 25% minority, yet you demand everything? You MUST NOT have access to everything on the server…learn to live with that simple fact…

Here is what I blame to ccp. The segregation they create for this kind of event is not ok.

You guys prefer to deal with npc and like pvp thats ok you also need to have your gameplay

We do loved to get something where we could meet random fleets to pvp over a pve objective and not by joining fw, that the defination of event, a singular moment.

What I blame is : caldari invasion of syndicate were great idea, why there was no gameplay to push people in syndicate on the event ? This region is kinda dead and could revive it at some point.

The breakout, dude. Intaki is big corp with great ressources. When we, simple people, have hundreds of titans, initaki have 1 poorly fitted who got killed in 4 mins. Shame.

I do respect your pov but there is solutions to give you guys for exemple a multiple cyno, 1 in low 1 in hs, that way everyone is happy. Actually outlaw people were not able to play the event… its frustrating also for them.

We all pay our game we want to all take pleasure over some random event, thats why eve called themselves a sandbox.
