There’s a difference between having a serious debate and ranting. There were a few posts at the beginning that were more rational, whether I agreed with them or not. Once a thread inevitably descends into a talking shop for idiots who aren’t able to counter a point logically, then there’s not much point investing time in the post. It’s ok don’t worry about it if you don’t get it. 
You seem kinda smug and condescending. Did you really think you were going to win anyone over?

Authoritarian control freaks are the worst aspect of human nature, inbreds who can’t mind their p’s and q’s might hurt your feelings but at the end of the day it’s jumped up ideologues who think they know everything and can’t tolerate dissent that end up putting bodies in mass graves.

I wouldn’t say that it is “not important”, but I would say that is it only important if the hateful speech is actually a hateful speech.
It’s very important to understand if a slur is just a bad language maner, or if there is a real intention to hurt someone behind the slur.
For instance, someone being killed by a Russian player and starting to insult Russians for a minute because he is angry, or a real anti-Russian racist with a real hate for this people, are two absolutely different cases.
I consider the ability to distinguish the intention behind words as a sign of maturity. “Limit or manage hateful speech” sounds to me like a form of censorship that would be applied by way too sensitive people.
You don’t have to “limit hateful speech”, you have to deal with a player if you really establish that he is a real racist or a real homophobic, or whatever else may turn to be a true problem.
Limiting speech by itself is just over exagerated Political Correctness, with more negative aspects than positive ones.

And you’re welcome to have that discussion. Perhaps you should not have let this thread wander off in different directions, by being clear from the very start and getting involved. The simple question you claim after a number of posts to have formulated is “how to deal with unacceptable interactions in a corp”.
You received a suggestion: in essence it’s about leadership, you shape the group you want. Sadly you never replied, to refine or adjust the discussion.
So where is this discussion you want ? You feed us thin air, call some responses semi intelligent and seem surprised that some feel attacked. Throwing a stick in the hen house and then pointing fingers is semi honest at best. So get involved in your own thread, instead of letting other people stick their necks out and watch from a distance how you started a potential fire and saying “look, they’re at it again”. Get involved, or don’t post at all.

It’s amazing how many people seem to have misread / misunderstood / misrepresented your post, but I have to say this is partially your fault for writing a somewhat too long (albeit well written) post that looks too similar to other posts we’ve become used to see from people complaining about “bad manners”, “offensive behaviour” and whatnot because someone hurt their feelings, when in fact that appears to not be what you’re talking about…
While I have no problem with in game rudeness, brutality, etc, and even out of game don’t make a big deal of that either, I totally don’t tolerate IRL threats and hate speech, which is what you appear to be talking about.
FWIW, I’ve started to take note of every player I see wishing IRL death, cancer, raping, etc, or making racial slurs or other forms of (again IRL) discriminatory hate speech, mostly to make sure that I’ll treat them differently than I normally would if I ever encounter them in game…

I think eminem’s philosophy on the matter is the best one, to be honest… or at least it adds a realistic perspective on the matter. the whole “you find me offensive? well I find you offensive for finding me offensive.”
I’m a purple people eater… now who’s culture can say I shouldn’t be able to participate in a video game because I eat purple people? there are still parts of the world where, people actually eat other people… In my opinion, we as a society should focus on that first, then this whole hate vs hate debate… actually my opinion is, lets just play the game and not use the game as a platform to decide what is right and what is wrong… especially this game, where well, most of society has deemed it as people who do ‘wicked things’… i mean lets go and fix the issues the game actually has control over?
There are more appropriate platforms to take these matters up with, I.E. Inter-pol, NATO, the U.N., the European Union, ect… let those guys figure it out, if you think someone is hateful and is breaking the law, contact the appropriate channels. CCP, isn’t one of them. and let CCP try and figure out how they are going to fix the issues the game has, ya?
Hypothetically, if a community who plays eve started sharing child pornography thru their own channels… you would probably contact your countries law enforcement division, who would then figure out if it is something they can take care of on a national level… if it is an international problem they would forward it to inter-pol to have them take care of it… people there is already a system on this planet that handles issues… Please don’t make a mediocre game development company an authority figure on such matters, it isn’t fair to them or the victims of crimes…

Not in the end, but from the start, by defining the issue. Does your question boil down to “hey guys, i have this recurrent situation in my corp, how would you deal with it and why in that way” ? I still don’t know exactly and I’d like to know because it’s an important and interesting subject. Instead some replies derailed into generalities which are sure to be provocative to others or even encompass what in real life societies are considered crimes. You see, the words in your title can be interpreted in too many ways, intentional or not.
Have problems with certain people in your corp ? Get them out, pure and simple, if you think that is the best solution for the viability of your corp. Want to re-educate them ? That is another discussion.
