The Argument for War Declaration Changes

Why so salty?
It’s just pixels :joy:

Interesting how much you wrote about yourself. And what about you when Eve changes?

You’re welcome, and may I say thank you for exercising restraint in your rebuttal. Your controlled delivery of salt is to be applauded.

Its questionable that HS needs or benefits from more PvP.

The majority of PvP should be occuring in Player Sov.

We know that part of the problem is mass wardecs, as shown by CCP.

The logical solution to that is restricting number of wardecs and/or increased wardec cost.

Mass wardec corps will have to split into smaller corps, which each have a wardec limit and their own wardec costs.

No, it’s not. It’s a PvP game.

World of Tanks is a PvP game.

MechWarrior Online is a PvP game.

Overwatch and Counterstrike and all the shooters are PvP games.

A game where you can solo play PvE content all day every is not a PvP game. It’s an MMO sandbox with an emphasis on player conflict, and always has been.

PvP is not exclusive to ship destruction.
Market PvP is overwhelmingly located in HS.

Everyone knows that HS is supposed to be the safest region from combat PVP, and Player Sov the most dangerous. That isnt happening atm.

This is EVE Online and not some other game.

Your expectations are flawed.

So what should be the expectation?

That HS is the most dangerous regarding combat PvP, and Player Sov the safest?

Seems counter-intuitive and defeats the purpose of sector safety mechanics.

This is a game with Creation and Destruction aspects.

This is a better and more subtle definition than the tired old tirade of “It’s a PvP game”.

If you only have the Destruction aspect being encouraged, the game, and what it represents, dies, so as much as PvP is important, you also need a space that is more about Creation than Destruction.

And I think High-Sec is perfect for that.

I used that example during my The Dantelion Plan series, but Albion Online starting zones, “Blue zones” have absolutely NO PvP. Zero, nada, it’s forbidden and not even possible.
And this does NOT make Albion Online not a PvP game.

EVE could make the same choice.

Again, flawed expectations.

Use your weapons and fight for your space, or be defeated.

do you mean this?

There should more explosion PvP in Player Sov than HS.

That is not happening.

Thats not an expectation issue, its a game design and mechanics issue.

So then fly there and make some explosions.

Are you arguind that Null-Sec must be the space for Creation or that Null-Sec needs more Destruction?

In both cases this does nothing in showing that High-Sec shouldn’t be more about Creation.

Flawed Rhetoric and Empty Dogma.

I’m all for Fight and Conquer, but that does not mean that the zone where our newbies start has to be about that.

Its been known for years that Player Sov players run Suicide Ganking and Mass Wardeccing in HS, while they farm PvE in Player Sov.

No, it’s way simpler than that, hisec is more densely populated therefore it has more violent interactions. It’s difficult to find target in empty systems.

Much of that population in HS is Player NS moving stuff to HS markets and back again.

You are confusing HS locals, with Player NS transients that go in and out, constantly, to access HS markets.

The rate of violent interactions in HS is due to flawed sectors mechanics, not due to population density.
