Its cheaper and safer to ship mats out of NS, and manufacture them in HS, than in NS.
Plus you can source the remaining mats you need from cheaper HS markets to complete manufacture, and then sell them on the more competetive HS markets also.

A few days back I went on a little roam that harassed Slyce and Black Legion to the point where Slyce dropped a carrier to protect the retreat of a BC gang from our little dessie roam. And against a ONI fleet from BL we lost five talwars while they lost a command dessie, an ONI, a dictor, an interceptor, and a ton of their time.
But I feel the need to point out a little detail. Those loss numbers you are moaning and groaning about? They include the hull loses from suicide gankers. You know the guys that routinely welp 15+ ships to take out one freighter. Tends to inflate the numbers a bit. Same can be said for the annual Burn Jita where thousands of destroyers are used to gank things over the course of a week.
Your average wardec catches nothing, maybe a few idiots a couple times. The average suicide ganker catching some crazy bears generates far more kills over time. So no wardec changes mean little here.
I stated there isnt enough explosion PvP happening in Player Sov, which should be the most dangerous space, as proportional to HS, which should be the safest space.
This means sector mechanics and design are ass-backwards.
Id estimate that ~20% of HS activity is Player NS based as material transferring between Player NS and HS, either to HS markets or Player NS based manufacturing, and back to Player NS.
NS LS and WH people who need access to a trade hub, sure, but what’s your point? i said that HS has the higher population density and that resulted in more violent interaction, and you answered they were mostly NS people, so what? they are juicy targets and their cap umbrella is not here to protect them…
Its not a population density issue.
Most HS players have zero interest in PvP.
Its a design and sector mechanics issue which has resulted in explosive PvP that should be happening in Player NS occuring in HS instead.
CCP should design so that the majority of explosion PVP happens in Player Sov, where it should be happening.
It is organised this way, but the system has a flaw: PEOPLE. When you give them free reign, those pesky creatures organise themselves for profit and security. Damnit.
