I would like to hear others’ suggestions as well.


DRONES

1 - DRONE UPDATE Gods and stars above, please update the drones and drone mechanics. Making mission rats target drones sucks. I understand WHY it was changed, but the change stinks and just makes it unfun because you have to constantly micromanage your drones in random situations. There seems to be no rhyme or reason that NPCs target them and sometimes they will burn them down and other times they just ignore them. For most ships, this is only a small annoyance, but being told I need to wait 30 seconds to launch my drones because I pulled them in and launched them within the past minute to save them is silly, though I assume its to help the servers. There are so many neato things that could be done with drones.

2 - High Slot “Drone Tender” module that would repair drones when they are in proximity. It could also offer minor bonuses to the drones to make up for the taken High Slot.

3 - Drone Models and Animations - I understand why drones will likely never have turrets, but why not give them strafing animations and or missiles then? There’s so much that could be done here like giving them missiles that correspond to their faction damage type. No additional turrets to lag things up and improves the experience.


SHIPS

-Mining Command Ship that sits alongside the Orca and under the Rorqual. The thought process is a mining drone tender. So less of a fleet booster/support like the Orca and more focused to the people who want a T3 Mining Barge. The thought process here is a high level overview of your hull bonused mining drones. There’s not much progression in mining ships and a lot of miners feel bored with the lack of new ships/vertical progression.

SoE Cloaky Exploration Battlecruiser to sit between the Stratios and the Nestor.

EXPLORATION

MAKE EXPLORATION GREAT AGAIN!

Give us neat things to find: spooky space stories of hidden labs gone wrong, valiant stories of combat that could be found from old battlefields, interesting cosmic phenomena, etc. Let us find derelict ships and claim them after repairs or bringing their systems online. There’s SO MUCH that could be done with exploration.

MISSIONS

Missions are so stale. Can we have procgen missions? New mission environments? Hire someone just to make new missions?


TECHNICAL REQUESTS

I really wish that the ships felt… bigger. I don’t really know how to explain this. I just feel that spaceships should be these giant, looming entities and that weapons fire should feel deep and impactful.

I would like to actually hear the game. I remember ages ago that I could hear every turret and explosion going off around me, and now it’s barely audible. There was some change made in the last 10 years that modified this.

PLEASE give us sliders to fine-tune audio distances. EG: Full audio for my ship, 80% audio for ships within 25KM for example.

Can we pretty please have the ability to have our HUD on a different monitor and our visuals/ships/etc on another? A lot of us have multi monitor setups and being able to black a screen and have my overlay on it would be awesome.

Multi Character Training: If we have 2 MTCs active but two of your three characters aren’t training skills, the skill points feed the character that is training something?


Weapon Animations & Art

Can we PLEASE get better projectile, Hybrid and Laser animations?
Projectile animations are the worst off IMO, followed by Hybrid and then Laser.

Specifically the autocannon animations. Homeworld II had visible projectile leading and was released in 2003, the same year as EVE.

Missile Trails - Make them longer and last longer. They’re neat! You know the mining laser dust trail? Yeah, but for missiles. Maybe client settings?


Mining

Mining is passive, stale and boring! Mining shouldn’t be an AFK playstyle.

Suggestion:

-Mineral veins that can be followed for additional resources.

-Asteroids that break apart as they’re mined or the need to “Crack” an asteroid open to mine it.

-Asteroids have proper hitboxes. The hitboxes on asteroids are ridiculous and are far larger than the roid itself.

-New asteroid models.

-Can mining lasers finally inflict damage on player/NPS ships?

-Mixed Asteroid Fields: Some of these concepts could be added as unique asteroids that spawn alongside or in replacement of asteroids in a belt. This way, both active and the current mining play styles are supported and there are no pitchfork-torch mobs of angry miners.

-Procedural Generated Asteroid Fields: Keep the total amount of ore the same but change up the roid sizes and locations. Imagine warping in to see one giant-ass asteroid floating there or other such interesting things.


SKINR

Can we please have the ability to set our guns a different color than that portion of the ship?

Can we have Wood Grain and Art Deco styles in the SKINR tool? We already have ships flying around that look like a rapper’s grill, why can’t I have wood grain on my ship?

I’d suck a mountain of ****s for Wood Grain Trim on my ship.

All the drone changes you listed simply support even more drone boat AFK, which we don’t need.

As far as mining command ships go, you also have the Porpoise.

Procedurally generated missions? No thanks. I don’t want to have to guess which damage type to deal, which damage type to tank, figure out the NPC waves and triggers every time I do a mission. It would make them take 10 times longer.

Pro-tip: Catch aggro with your ship first before you release your drones and they won’t get anywhere near as much aggro, sometimes none at all.

EVE doesn’t have manual aiming. Not only would that be a pain in the ass, it’s impossible to do with this game engine.

SoE and Mordu destroyers and battlecruisers might be fun. Maybe a Deathless frigate, cruiser and battleship as well.

More Missions are always good.

More Exploration is also always good. However, in the end it is still always the same stuff you get from this activity. You should try sleeper caches. They feel demanding but are also solved and only give the same stuff you already know. True exploration and discovery is not possible in EVE.

Making it unfun to AFK an Isthar is the point of it. CCP needs to fine-tune this aggro mechanic to only work on ships where drones are the main DPS source. Ships with a set of light drones for some auxiliary DPS/utility should not be subject to the same penalties as an Isthar or Vexor.

That is a really poor idea. It sounds fun in theory, but even games focused on this idea, like Star Citizen, show that it’s not a great experience. Disconnects, waiting for other players to be there, hoping that random team fillers actually play and don’t sabotage your efforts, time schedules for all players so that ONE ship can function properly and so on are issues that make this whole idea unappealing.

Currently there is no way to tell which skills are alpha restricted when creating skill plans as omega player, so it would be nice to have something simple like a checkbox that hides omega skills or button at the beginning like “Create alpha skill plan” or simply paint omega skills in different color. Also it would be nice if you could see somewhere the amount of SP needed to finish skill plan, not just the time remaining.

This is a really good point. I never realized that.
