The consequences of 'Trig space'?

it wasn’t even a “purity of eve thing” more the rot has officially hit the core

CCP has already said that cloaking devices will not be allowed in Abyssal Space. Nor will deployables.

I hope they ban the better sites from null, there are just too many empty null systems.

You know that’s not going to happen…

Didn’t they just say / write you can not deploy in trig space? Because in that case you can still bring a depot with you and deploy it once you exit the instance. Same question for cloaking. Though I only read about it somewhere so maybe the person was misquoting CCP or something. Clarification would be good. I know CCP plans to ban cloak and deployables in FW so that is why I am not 100% sure it is not just based on a confusion of the two.

No cloaking, no warping and no deployment of mobile depots is what I understood.

Which to me doesn’t mean you can’t fit a cloak to escape once you exit, just that you can’t cloak while inside.
A stratios or force recon might be a safe way to get back to safety after running one, if maybe not the greatest while in the abyss itself.

Exactly was my thinking. In case of FW changes they said they will check on gate whether you have a cloak fitted and/or depot in cargo bay and if you do (either of them) then you will not be able to enter. Technically it could be similar here either being unable to open the portal to trig space or if opened could only enter if no cloak fitted and no deployable in cargo hold, but the wording made me think it is just a limitation of usage like how “natural phenomena is preventing your ship (to warp)” inside some mission (and event) pockets and the same can be done with cloaking and ability to deploy but that doesn’t mean it will prevent them being fitted / brought in cargo.

No chance of that.

And its not “empty” null systems that are the problem.

Its the ones deep in Player NS with plenty of support to secure their Trig pocket exit, while they farm their hearts out, for the greatest Trig pocket rewards, 24/7.

Though isn’t this is what alliances and null are for (same with wh space), to secure an area and make it their own and farm it? It is a joint effort of dozens (in case of wh) or hundreds (in case of null) of players or more to make it possible to farm in relative safety. In my opinion they worked for it, put in the effort so it is natural they can harvest the fruits of those efforts. So personally even as a hi-sec (alpha) player I see no issue with this.

I see that people would like to benefit the most of these sites regardless what security space they operate at but balance and overall themes should still exists regarding risk vs reward and effort vs reward and so forth.

That was already the case.

But Trig space pockets means they can earn even more than before.

The risk comes from the site, not where you run it from. Running from null/WH will already negate the risk of ganking on exit. That’s enough of an advantage in my mind. In this instance there would be absolutely no grounds for whining if they get ganked at the exit.

Not sure but what you bring up was nowhere part of the discussion. I agree with what you write btw but nobody was talking about that or if you can quote what you reply to in that regard. We were talking about whether it is a good or bad idea to limit higher tier sites to null/wh (or in general outside hisec) for the very reason you mention that in those spaces they can be farmed it relative safety.

Earlier it was discussed I think in this thread how the different tiers should be distributed and whether all should be available in hi-sec or not and if all available should that involve a suspect flag or other method of opening up the instance runner to attack not just suicide ganking. But that was an earlier subject and recent subject which the post you quote is about is not about that.

So I feel you either refer to those older posts but quote this latest or you misunderstood what my post is about. Thought better to clarify.

So… basically reward for lazyness?

I mean if players do good job using the game mechanics and securing their space they get lower reward (“That’s enough of an advantage in my mind”).
If they were bad and didn’t learn to crit their WH entrances or how to protect themself in 0.0 they would get good rewards (because their space wouldn’t be so safe?).

I guess he will clarify but to me what he wrote means hi-sec instance runners have no right to complain if they get ganked. Though not entirely clear what he meant tbh.

The filament that leads to the pocket, as the entrance point, stands to be far more vulnerable in HS than Player NS.

Understood that part and even agreed with it, that is exactly the case. Though was not sure if you argue against or for it or just note the fact. Though as you wrote they have “no grounds for whining” I assume you have no issue with it thus find it balanced.

Both issues and solutions are important, because the gank threat determines the available sets of ratting ships and vice versa. For example, the Drake recommended himself a perfect ship to operate in J-space of C2 and C3, considering there are more powerful ships available for that.

Different pockets of Trig-space (T-space) are supposed to contain random types of rats: Drones, Drifters, Sleepers and Triglavians. Drones doing mainly Em, Kinetic and a half Thermal damage, sometimes other damage variant. Drifters and Sleepers doing Omni damage type proportionally. Triglavians doing Thermal and Explosive damage. Considering Sleepers and Drifters can Neut and Triglavians will have the highest under Cap dps (as promised by Devs), obviously a passive or cap-strong active shield Omni-tank vessel will be optimal option, while armor tanked ships will be hard to manage. Omni-tank ships are required due to refitting limits and rat types. This causes new issues - both passive and active shield Omni-tanked ships are vulnerable for ganker’s Volley damage.

Anyway, somewhen in May the Abys will be available on Singularity and everyone interested in it will find what type of ships can handle that.

The Abys has only one entrance and one exit and will exist for a relatively short amount of time compared to WH. It will be hard to salvage something there and near impossible to mine. It’ll be opened by special items, which can be collected from Data and Relic sites. Nobody knows yet their drop chance.

I seem to recall that CCP said there will be no salvage in these new sites. Based on that I also assume nothing to mine either, just a guess though. Not sure if applies to the sleepers / drifters too or just the trigs though, but seems logical that there will be zero salvage, though this is CCP we’re talking about so an oversight or deliberate deviation from the “no salvage” directive may be present anyway.

Good.
That removes the overlap with j-space salvage loot and mining elsewhere.

That still leaves the bounty isk reward potential extant.
