No, I expect people to read more and do a bit of research and talk to others more BEFORE they fill their freight with 40 billion isk value and attempt to haul. If you have no idea what game youre playing then i suggest you google Eve Online, read the forums a bit and talk to others and request help or advice.
A new bro wont need to know concord reaction times right off the bat. What they need to know is not to overload their freight value so that concord reaction times wont apply to what they are doing at that time.
You can’t even see that I am simply talking about general guidelines that many people arent aware of.
oh this was doomed from the start,
rods a class A1 shiptoaster who’d been living under the hammer (and rightly so) for longer than a lot of the people in this thread have been playing.
I never said there was no upside to taking risk. There is no down side to ganking and this has been explained by several people in this thread. By your logic this game should be called Catalyst-online because it’s cheap and it’s the only thing that meets your approval. So why even have other ships in game? I mean, enough catalyst can pop anything right? Anything else will always be the victims fault even if they fly exactly like you say they should because time and time again empty freighters get popped.
Sweet Jesus, Mary, and Oprah, you guys have been busy this weekend. I have cleaned up a lot of posts in this thread. In the future, please do not report a thread simply because you do not agree with what is being said.
people accepting, and playing with the penalties of a given activity is in no way
and before you say it, im definitely not trawling through rods drivel to find the point,
if its an actual one rather than just “them lads cooperating is op” then it shouldn’t be to hard to make succinctly.
Assertion made, 850 + replies yet no one has demonstrated this to be the case,
In Addition, many have suggested many many reasons why there is an upside, and not just for the ganker
I know this because when I read:
I was worried something I wrote got deleted, so I read the whole thing again, well skimmed it
And can confirm, indubitably, that you merely repeat yourself… and never respond to the substance of anything said in return, never learning, only demonstrating the futility of your agenda, its transparency, and perhaps why you get blown up a lot…
Of course there is a downside. You lose your ship, you suffer a security status loss, and you have to sit in a station for 15 minutes. Those are downsides.
Your complaint is that these downsides are not sufficient relative to the reward…but who creates the reward? You do.You create the reward by overloading and anti-tanking your freighter and not using a scout.
I have not written anything that supports this. In fact, if you look through my KB activity you’ll see that I only really gank during Burn events such as Burn Jita.
Now you are just being childish. You are being childish because you know I am right.
Yes. But after a certain point it becomes uneconomical. That you actually make it economical to gank your freighter is on you. When you turn your ship into a loot pinata that is not only not reducing your risk it is increasing it. Why do you increase your risk?
Actually they don’t. Not nearly as frequently as you suggest. Once one removes war dec losses, NS and LS losses, and those freighters carrying double wrapped containers…there are few empty freighters being ganked.
Here is the first Obelisk that was ganked while empty.
It was ganked on the 22nd. And that is the only one since Nov. 12.
Suicide ganing is too cheap to pull off
He wants a 'ward of gank expense’
so only ‘expensive’ ships can blow him up
But he doesn’t want advice about opsec or tanking or anything
If anyone, even ‘carebears’ or you know, ‘gankers’ even try to offer him anything positive or any kind of advice, if they disagree with him he throws a wobble, and calls them idiots etc/
He also made a quote wall of ‘all the reasonable responders in the thread’ and then quoted only people who agreed with him, or parts of posts that did, and also @Dinsdale_Pirannha talking about null sec cartels.
His first post on the forums was to tell us he is an
ELITE PVPer from UO and darkfall or something where he got a temp ban
and that we are all trash and bad at pvp because of suicide ganks or something.
So as you can imagine that went well…
TLDRTLDR
Not the usual entitled carelessbear, this one is an ELITE PVPer so Watch Out, plus he ‘hasn’t played for 6 months’ and will just open another thread on the same topic if this one is closed.
The reason that there is no readily apparent downside from your point of view is that you’re failing to provide it. You have the exact same tools that they have, use them; especially the most basic tool of all, cooperation.
That’s some stretch of logic you’ve got going on there.
This is by design, enough corvettes can pop a dreadnaught or a titan; we did the math on the old forums a long time ago.
No player controlled ship is invulnerable, everything a player can fly can be killed.
How many of those empty freighters weren’t fitted with bulkheads? How many actually had a person at the wheel instead of autopilot, in both cases the player made a poor choice, and other players took advantage of it, this is also by design and any CCP dev worth his salt will tell you something very similar.
Choices have consequences, you either own them and take personal responsibility for the results, be they good or bad; or you spend your life blaming everybody else for your misfortunes.
This is as true ingame as it is in real life.
My advice:
Tank your stuff, don’t go afk, restrict your cargo value, I tend to go with Eve Uni’s rule of thumb of 3000isk/EHP; but I don’t use freighters, I farm that out to Red Frog or PushX. If you must use a freighter, use bulkheads over pretty much everything else, it’s never getting into warp fast on its lonesome, utilise other accounts if you have them, or ask corpmates, to provide an in-corp webber/scout to accompany you. Factor the occasional ship loss into any profit calculations you do.
Please provide post number in which someone demonstrates that there is
‘no down side to ganking’
What number posts, they are all numbered.
BTW, I said
So you need to find an ‘explanation’ that is not just an ‘assertion’
eg. a demonstration. Not just OMG its overpowered, but when someone has come up with some reasons why the Cost of SG is NOT too low, you or someone would need to respond to those posts.
Otherwise its assertion, not an explanation or a demonstration of anything, other than your inability to tell the difference.
oh im quite familiar with rod, to the point of not needing to actually read his posts anymore.
thank you for the tl:dr though , its always nice to verify these things.
iv some “love” letters from a couple of years back i think and its all the same,
markedly less prickly than he used to be though.
