How about not even that? Just get rid of bounties in Sov Null altogether. Make it ressource allocation only. It would also make more sense to use the massive output of Rorquals to pay for everything else and not have raw ISK showers on top of that.
Seems about right
My corp has already encountered the malediction meta. (Or atleast a early version of it) it was quite effective and fun to fight.
No doubt you will, but rest of EvE likes watching you adapt. So bring in the bold changes, and you can show.
N+1 isnât going to go away without artificial constraints that are fundamentally not-EVE. Iâm not saying that because of any amazing wisdom, mind you, but just because of the basic truth in my last response: itâs what people do. You wanna beat someone up, and youâre not sure you can do it? Get a couple of friends and go kick his butt. Heâs got friends? Get more friends.
Pretty soon, âfriendsâ are âgangsâ, then âbandsâ, then âarmiesâ. Human history is a study in the conflict between tribalismâthe human psycheâs need to define itself by what (and who) it stands in opposition toâand accretion, that long, constant build-up of bigger and bigger networks of friends that forms the basis for every empire, every political bloc, every network of international alliances.
So unless youâre gonna change either the game or human nature at a very fundamental level, blobbing isnât going away. When your stuff gets blown up and actually goes away, enough people start taking it seriously that part of âfunâ becomes âmake sure the other guy didnât have funâ. Sad, but true.
As for lowsec⌠I get the feeling CCP doesnât really know what they want lowsec to be. CONCORDâs omnipresent in high-sec, it feels like lowsec should be someplace where the national navies still maintain a presence, they just donât care too much about us shooting one another (unless youâre in a friendly militia). And faction warfare⌠so much of that is won by avoiding fights and just running away if the plex is contested. Seems kinda⌠backwards, you know?
Would these new missions that are corp-based instead of faction-based use existing L1/2/3/4/5 agents or would there be new agents added for them so we could get just the new missions?
I ask because thereâs a lot of folks who lose patience with the burner/team burner/base burner offers interrupting their normal L4 security mission offers (even though they can be declined with no standing loss)⌠and then thereâs the corresponding set of folks losing patience with the regular L4 mission offers when they only want the burners (and here the 4 hour timer comes into play)âŚ
In some ways, would have been nice had they had separate agents. Yes, yes, I know CCP didnât want people to be able to just chain burners 24/7 (tho with enough standing with enough corps/agents in a small area you can still pretty much chain⌠and if you donât mind declining more than once per 4 hours, even more levels of chaining are attainable).
Just curious, as Iâm good either way⌠I spend most of my time these days either incursioning, doing WH PVE/PVP, running event sites, abyssing, or L4 mishing (both regular ones and also running some base/team burners when I feel like hopping in my garmurs/deimoses/vigilants ;D), so variety is the spice of life and all.
If all agents got them it would be in some ways easier as you wouldnât need to set up shop at a new station potentially⌠but itâd be nice to just get nothing but the new content straight into the veins via IV drip, too. ;D
Goons may in theory adapt and look like a well oiled machine but practically everything still depends on people and mechanics that make everyone lose their ship from time to time. On fundamental level everybody who takes risks, every pilot jumping gates will sometimes lose their ship and cargo. People make mistakes.
You say that, but the last two major adaptations we made have gotten nothing but complaints in response: the rise of an industrial power, and the military force to actually secure our space to a reasonable degree.
If the idea of nullsec is âbuild an empireâ the way weâre told it is, it seems pretty silly how much people whine and complain when someone actually tries.
Of course. But individual success or failure isnât the metric anyone should look at when evaluating changes. Systemic effects are. And once youâre looking at that scale, the fact that 90% of our people are drooling idiots is offset by the economies of scale, mostly.
I blame rorqual change. CCP made a big mistake. Only accelerated things. Every mechanics and balance that speeds up creation of titans is stupid.
Bring back null how it was back in 2004.
Without capital ships.
It certainly did. But by the same token, it only accelerated things. It didnât cause them. The Rorqual changes went into effect for everyone at the same time. You didnât see the rise of 80-man Rorqual fleets all across null, though. The smaller groups, the groups that insisted they were proud PvP groups and looked down on miners and âcarebearsâ⌠they didnât adapt. And weâve seen what that lead to, this summer.
This is the issue, some should not be able to be successful without at least 50% of the people being none-idiots.
Except, of course, that humanity manages to make that happen every day.
For the record, I have a pretty dim view of our species. If I said I thought 90% of humanity were drooling idiots, Iâd be lowballing it.
In goons few non-idiots work for the rest of idiots. That is their success. Goons like their idiots so much they work for them by programming, by devoting their precious time. The mass of sheeps led by a lion is how would you describe it by fairy tale terms.
ad. Wormholes & Factional Warfare - why the hell you have a meeting about that when we all know nothing will be do about them? Itâs second CSM meeting with no results just talking about the same â â â â . Yes they need to look at, no we donât have time/resource to do anything about them. Waste of time.
Most important question: where is the roadmap? Another CSM meeting and nothing on the horizon. Problems are piling up, old are not resolved, some band aid balance passes on extra sessions are proposed. This stinks. Iâm not even hyped for player build stargates because what I see is more problems coming and there will be a threshold which you canât overcome (piling up problems with old and new features). Overall really disappointed. You know you have a problems, and some are very crucials one, like war dec system, yet you keep pushing new additions.
Years gone, nothing done, we will not see changes I think, at least for few additional years.
Maybe when Star Citizen at last comes out as finished game.
Well, the new additions in this case are just the latter parts of iterative projects thatâve been in the works for 3 years now (the Upwell structures). And those are actually a lot more important than you might realize, because they allow for the removal of POSs. And, as everyone knows, the Starbase code is an ancient spaghetti-snarl of horribleness that keeps a lot of other things from being seriously overhauled. So removing that is probably a necessary step to a lot of the âfixing problemsâ.
I personally think it is ridiculous to assume that travel ceptors or even nullification on a combat ceptor are such a big deal as claimed. Keep it, it is good for the game with friends from multiple groups meeting up for some fun and many times I have seen a frig and try to duel them only to get crushed about the same time I realize I am travel fit. LOLâŚ
But yet I do chain booshing as CCP suggested is okay in very small tactical advantages is used to the point of abuse. The Ferox âcouldâ use a slight nerf though I would like to see some very minor tweaks to other BC lines. Just not wanting another Hybrid nerf cycle drama.
Loki is used and abused compared to other T3Cs though I am not sure about to the extent Suitonia talks about.
The limit on ASB sounds awesome.
I still can not support full scale 64 bit unless I can cap accounts to 32 bit I see that getting WAY out of control to just have me though more RAM into the fire without attention to optimizing features and code. Which I hope you will be able to do just by going through it with a comb âwhileâ making it 64 bit capable.
Past that I am actually rather disappointed in how I was represented and others in the community. I seem like there was a lot of fanning the flames with some groups when solutions were expressed and and written in the summit notes. But still, those groups were written off for the LOLZ.
Though it seems like Sort was the most responsible adult in the room it seemed in the aftermath, others were portraying him as the angry one I have to write it off at this point as he is not infatuated with CCP but with the game they make. And Innominate just seemed tired of the process. Jin throwing ideas like he was living in a zoo. And Brisc just lobbying for INIT wanting to get rid of anything against INIT.
Some of the minutes seemed like just a repetition of asking CCP the same question in different ways until they were able to affirm their confirmation basis.
Reading the document mad me well⌠rather sad.
Capital profileation isnt adressed its INCURAGED!.. if Rat prices go down⌠more people will need a cap
for the âsustainâ ⌠wich means⌠les isk for non cap pilotes and! higher prices. The bigger the need for caps
the higer prices for production materials, the more it hurts the non-cap players.
Edit:
I do love capital ships, by no small amount, but the profilation of them is a big issue in the core game.
the more the game turns in to a cap feast, the more difficult it becomes for non cap players, as the game
balance shifts to people with cap ships. The balance in eve is tilting at an increased rate. been here
since 2004, and well⌠id have to be blind not to see it.
It cant be good for buisness either, i cant imagine that the game can sustain it self, only catering to the
âhigh-rollersâ⌠If u whant an influx of players, and a growing base, u need to give em a viable and time worth
way of getting in to the game.
If u as a brand new player allready get told, âU need to aim for a cap to be really viable in the long run.â the
task is so overwhelming that its ALT-f4âŚ
Dont take me Wrong, EVE should bever become easy, NPC - belt / site ratting is WAY to easy⌠and to uninvolved⌠how ever if theres someting in the game i think needs a change⌠its CAPITAL SHIPS!
CAPITALS SHIPS in their current state are main source of imbalance, and sub-cap inability to be sustainable
becource the entire game is being âpillowedâ around capital ships every were but high sec.
My dream would be that TITANS was a rare sight, motherships uncommon and Carriers something specialâŚ
atm i rate a Carrier the same way i did my first Rupture back in 2004âŚ
im not very âwell-spokenâ in written english and i know i aint getting my point across⌠but hey i gave it a try.
Which is not that crucial donât you think? Itâs not gamebreakers, you wonât lose players because they are not implemented. On the other hand we have abyss space, new addition which is already need to be tweaked, it will take dev hours that can be spend on something else, made problems (like with how to put loot on the market) and didnât affect the gameplay they expect it will. CSM and CCP agreed it not gamechanger and only small group of players may possibly benefit form it (small gangs). See? Instead focusing of something they already have in-game and make it better they keep bringing up new features that made even more problems which is start to dangerously piling up. Remember RWs? Yeah I donât either, waste resources.
POV-citadels transition will take years to end and be properly balanced, in the meantime you canât ignore most important problems. Band-aid solution is not the solution at all. You canât treat appendix with pills, it must be cut off.
Thatâs going to be a problem with any change to try to get a handle on the ISK faucets: thereâs so much ISK already out there that trying to cut the cash flow creates a disparity between âI already had 5 titansâ and âIâm never going to get a carrier nowâŚâ
Thatâs not an argument against trying, mind you, but it is a thing to remember. There needs to be a way to bleed out a lot of that extra money⌠in EVEâs case, literally bleed it out. Otherwise that disparity never gets reduced.
