The Drops on Ganked Haulers versus Items in Cargo

I’m fine with that, to a degree. I was around when only NPC corps were war immune, and I think things were generally fine. I know some people complained about wardec griefing back then, but personally, I never saw it as an issue. Plus, we still have wardec griefing today, it’s just more convoluted. So I say strip immunity back to the NPC corps again, and let’s see where the chips fall.

I don’t have all the answers, but I think the starting point should be that you can only wardec corporations of the same size (+/-20%) or larger. And I think wardec costs should increase every week and only slowly be reduced. I don’t think structures should come into play as a requirement.

pay a hauling corp like push x to move it for you, spend those 2 days? not hauling. Make more money doing anything else in that time

The current state of PvP in highsec is just stupid. It is unfair, unbalanced and too easy.

The whole system needs revamp and I propose a simple change that would fix all issues.

Give players a consent button.

Another player is wardeccing you? You get a notification popup in CEO’s notification tray with simple “An enemy corporation wants to declare war upon you. Do you accept? Yes/No.”

Likewise, when a highsec ganker decides to shoot at your ship in highsec you get a popup window “Another player wants to gank you, you do accept? Yes/No.”

Only when player clicks at yes will the wardec be processed, only until player clicks at yes will the guns of highsec ganker actually fire (ie. if the player clicks at No or ignores the popup, then it will act as if the attacker had green safety - he will not be able to shoot.)

See with this proposal nobody is immune to PvP. And it is healthy, balanced and fair.

I would, if this wasn’t mostly planetary industrial items. I get taxed on export 12 to 15% then I get taxed on sale as well. Paying for 2 men and a truck is just cutting deeper into my profits. I think I am about 50% done. I will pause a moment and do some math. I was wrong, about 35% done. Looks like I will be at it for a while yet. No shipments lost yet.

This has increased my speed using the T1 haulers and my shipping clone has no implants to lose.

Another idea I thought about, is putting cloaks on the transports, but the cloak reduces speed, doesn’t really appear cost effective, and probably advertise I have something worth taking.

I see a lot of very expensive warships camped at these gates along the way. Are they waiting on freighters? It hardly seems worth while to lose a 50 million isk ship to a 3.5 million isk T1 hauler gank. I am more concerned about the T1 destroyers worth less than 1 million isk.

You can’t be serious. Why would anyone ever click Yes?

If they can click No, then they are immune.

EDIT: Maybe this is a Swift-esque “modest proposal” type thing, and it just went over my head?

I wasn’t going to say anything, but I will now;

Someone wants to rob and kill you, will you except the charges?

Of course they would. Players like @Arthur_Aihaken always claim that they want PvP. They are just not given time to prepare as they are getting illegally killed by evil suicide ganker maniacs every day.

If they finally had that time to prepare, to learn it, then they surely would accept the wardecs and ganks and fight it off.

Same will happen if you remove high-sec ganking completely. Players will start vandering into low and null in massess as they will finally be prepared for PvP and the whole game will thrive. Lowsec will finally stop being a ghostland and nullsec sov map will finally see changes.

Highsec suicide ganking is the root cause for all the problems in EVE. In fact, high-sec ganking is the reason why all the other CCP’s projects so far failed. Vangard has still a chance if they remove ganking in EVE asap.

It’s been several years since I was ganked, so I’m not sure where you get the “killed by evil suicide ganker maniacs every day” bit. A few days ago I was in fact prepared, and killed a flashy suspect (thief).

Arthur has a mining permit now, so he is exempt from all ganks.

I use a Prowler with a covert ops cloak.

I only got my permit today, so anything prior doesn’t count. I also don’t count MTUs I’ve lost track of (and I do lose the occasional MTU). Finders keepers I say… (blue or not, they’re fair game as far as I’m concerned!)

If you’re looking to move PI items, try the Upwell Haulers: Squall, Deluge, Torrent.

They’re great for PI! And the Avalanche is even bigger but I personally haven’t seen the need yet.

Cloaks on haulers definitely are a good idea.

Blockade Runners (like the Deluge above) with covert cloaks are incredibly hard to catch, while even regular T2 cloaks make haulers hard to catch when combined with a 50MN for the ‘MWD cloak trick’ to align while cloaked.

Just don’t use the much slower T1 cloak for anything except hiding in a spot while cloaked, which isn’t very useful to haulers.

Are you talking about Tornados?

They can deal around 10k damage instantaneously, and are looking for targets with less effective hitpoints than that (such as badly fit haulers). So, make sure your hauler has more effective hitpoints than 10k or they’ll happily make the trade.

The T1 destroyers too can be dangerous.

Your 3.5M ISK hauler likely has cargo too which raises the price of your loot, and if not then I question what you are carrying: it’s easy to fit 50M ISK of PI in the right T1 hauler, even if you use a cheaper Epithal instead of one of the haulers I mentioned earlier.

I like the Torrent and Impel. You can easily get over 125k EHP with a tiny bit of effort. Over 200k EHP on the Impel with more effort. Either is enough to survive a half dozen Tornados.

I don’t like the cloaky Deep Space Transports - and I’ll tell you why. First, their very nature screams “I probably have something good”. Second, they have a paper thin tank such that a single Tornado can usually take it out. Third, the amount of cargo they can carry is gimped.

I’ve never lost a Torrent or an Impel to ganks - so that should tell you a lot about those two hulls when properly fit. I also don’t haul insanely stupid stuff on them that attracts all the wrong kind of attention, either - so that should also tell you something.

Know your gankers and protect the weak holes in your shield/armor vs. Coercers/Catalysts, Talos, Tornados and Stealth Bombers.

Mixing in garbage will do basically nothing except also give you a chance to drop some garbage.

^This. I use a Deluge to move PI out of lowsec all the time. You get the benefits of a standard BR plus that huge infrastructure hold. Very nice.

Uh… what? I don’t know what DST you’re flying, but mine has 100k+ EHP and a 62.5km3 fleet hangar. It can move a lot, take a beating, and align in 10s with a cloak+MWD.

Sorry, I meant blockade runners.

Ah, makes more sense then. Still, my Crane has 15k+ EHP, so not exactly paper. You don’t need much more when you’re slippery as hell.

I understand what you mean.

Blockade runners still are my favourite haulers.

They may have less EHP than the Deep Space Transports, but their much higher agility and covert cloak make them much harder to catch.

I easily fly them anywhere in null or to Jita unscouted, even through Ahbazon and wouldn’t do that with any other hauler.

Yes, they have lower cargo space but they also are far faster so if you need to do a couple of trips it’s not that big of an issue. And you can always swap to another hauler like a Torrent for the relative safe part of the way. I have a Torrent in HS which I sometimes use for that purpose to save me some trips.

All my PI characters fly a Deluge.
