I think if implemented properly, they could be really successful. All you’d need is several tiers, with an “unlimited” at the top that would allow drugs, Abyssal and Officer modules. I think solo, pairs and teams of up to five could work well.
yeah contract it to pushx . Hauling billions of isk in highsec when you don’t know what to do just isn’t worth the trouble. They will literally haul 8 B for like 50-100m and then its done
I finished hauling it all myself a week ago, but thanks for the advice. I lost no ships and was just bored, several times my cell phone distracted me, and I would have a ship drifting in space with 200 million isk on it. I would warp to the next gate and sigh. I didn’t even see any gankers as I passed multiple times through Uedama. Jita would get a lot of kills and still nothing there either. Are you people sure high sec ganking is a real issue? I have seen more action in Pochven.
Someone once described war as “long stretches of boredom punctuated by moments of sheer terror.” I think that description probably applies to highsec hauling as well.
and mining!
The solution is very simple…stop any possibility of unsanctioned(both sides) pvp and ganking everywhere in high…
I think what you’re looking for is 1.0 space in Exordium.
Why exactly do they have to go to Jita and Amarr and not to any of the other tradehubs?
Have you calculated a possible loss of at least one cargo run and your pod against the minor loss due to a lower selling price?
And even if you ignore all that, just look on zkill what is ganked. Empty freighters and empty haulers as well. If the gankers have everything in place they tend to gank anything as well for the lulz. So it might hit you even if you think you are not worth it because your cargo is totally empty or full of crap.
They tend to gank first and ask questions later these days.
Just one example out of the thousands each day:
Some people get ganked for using autopilot, just to remind them that not paying attention is a bad idea. Some for using greedy cargo-expander fits, even if empty. Some gankers simply see their activity as a service to convince players to play better. ![]()
Another reason for ganking empty ships is to create demand for ships the gankers alts are building and selling. This is particularly true for freighters.
This is bit of a stretch… I’m not sure that a guaranteed loss on an empty gank would offset the (potential) profit margin on (possibly) selling a replacement hull…
Economies of scale and the fact that not all will be empty. As a miner I would regularly destroy stuff that was barely profitable while building stuff for sale. Destruction means more demand for goods and you wouldnt need super profitable ganking to incentivize buyers to reship. In the end every bit helps the war economy.
I’m just going off your post.
No worries man, just saying Ive done it with empty or nonvaluable cargo in ships with the intent of selling hulls. So I figure if Ive done it so have other people. I still say hulkageddon was helicity’s attempt and drumming up losses for profitable sales. Its pure speculation on my part but imagine the profit margins increase if you can convince people to gank what you are selling or might have a bpo for. ![]()
We will see if, in a couple of months, not all high will be exordium…the current area looks like a test balloon, nobody ragequitted, so it can come… ![]()
We’ll see. I think it’s probably a stretch that high-sec will go safe-sec, but who knows…
CCP has pulled the rug out from under the player base for $$$ for so long now he may actually be correct for once. I don’t trust FC UK to do any better…
I think expanding exordium to all of highsec is a fine idea. Capping missions at level 2 and ore at grade 0 would finally correct highsec incomes that have grown well beyond excessive. Not to mention incursions.
A fine idea.
If you thought the backlash from “blackout” was brutal, be my guest. I expect you’ll lose half your playerbase in short order…
