If you don’t know or care about role-playing, at least read the section
“The Role-playing Aspect of The Ever Dawning Planet”.
I dreamt of the ever dawning planet again. Its glowing horizon was like an evil grin, as if it was purposely trying to block my view on the light beyond - like an evil guardian of the promised paradise ...
The Ever Dawning Planet is a new corporation that mainly focuses on collaborative writing in a simple setting based on Lovecraftian horror. The goal is to investigate and unravel the story about the name giving "Ever Dawning Planet" encountered by entering a dream like stasis as a capsuleers mind is transferred to a new clone (aka getting podded). You can read a short "in-character" premise here.
What is Role-playing
Role-playing means you assume the role of your character. Whenever you type in chat or speak over voicecomms, it is actually your character that does or says something and not yourself. Role-playing in EVE has become a somewhat niche topic and most people probably don't even know that it exists. That might be due to most role-players rarely go out-of-character. You might have encountered such players in factional warfare.
The Role-playing Aspect of The Ever Dawning Planet
This section could also be titled "Role-playing for Non-Role-players". Our/My goal is to revive role-playing in EVE by creating a simple storyline that even non-role-players can contribute to. Unlike most role-playing corps in EVE, we don't focus on factional warfare or the EVE universe in general. The EVE universe just coexists with the story we create. It is therefore not important what you're actually doing in the game. Greatness can be achieved through many ways. If you just want to play the game without dabbling into role-playing, that is fine, but you should at least be comfortable with the idea that other people will.
The Ever Dawning Planet is not a sect. You don't have to worship anyone or give up your possessions. There a lots of out-of-character opportunities and it's your choice alone what you want to do. No strings attached. The corp will give you a nice place to hang out and people to fly with at worst, and a fun and exiting story to explore at best. There is nothing to lose.
That's cool and all, but what do you actually do in-game?
Anything really. The overarching story of this corp is deliberately written to allow for corp members and the corp itself to venture into any direction they want. High-Sec, Low-Sec, J-Space, who knows where the story will lead us. But that's exiting, isn't it? Especially since the members decide where we will go by developing the story themselves.
This Ad is probably unlike most ads here and you are probably a tad confused now. But if you're intrigued, feel free to contact 'Arwen Estalia' or join the channel 'Hall of the Awake' in-game. All of your questions will be answered there ...
