Good. What’s the problem with that? It’s not like BF and ST have been taking a nose-dive anyway for months now. It’s only fair to wait and not get your margins artificially and unannounced reduced like that. Looking at it this way, it could actually be considered a douchebag move by CCP not to announce it and thus again cause people frustrating experiences for no good reason. Oh dear…
Are the lowsec key sites on sisi? If so I’m yet to find one and must be incredibly rare…
It’s only a temporary change, most likely just a desperate attempt to show they are actually doing something positive.
Of course then they get to nerf it in three months.
More high quality CCP coding at work
Why would CCP want everyone to suddenly stop putting up orders?
If i were them i wouldn’t have told you either.
They are online, I’m watching a streambear in one right now on twitch.
well, the announcement reads a lot like
“Let’s do an event that will drive PCU back up, free money for those who subscribe”, “We definitely double your game wallet if you give us real cash!”
as to the aftermath and the effect on health of economy, ecosystem…that all gets thrown out of the window…
Maybe PA told CCP - an Ultimatum that if they can’t get subscriber up, they are going to shutdown Eve…so thus the scrambling to lure ppl with isk printing promotions.
Things don’t work this way in the business world.
They wouldn’t shut down EVE - they’d just cut staff and resources, but leave the game up as long as it’s generating revenue, which would mean the game gets stuck in its current state with little, if any, further development. Then if/when it’s no longer generating enough revenue to offset costs, the IP would be spun off to some other company.
The accounting skill reads Sales tax starts at 5% and for each level it reduces down 11%
So I thought that would mean 2.7920297245% all along but always saw it read 2.5%
Unless my math is mistaken and or some other integral number is effecting such.

Therefore; 1.39601486225% sales tax under this Grand Heist event?
so true, especially this
so anything could happen, but the prospect of threat to current management could be real, and Eve can simply turn into a complete different form of MMO…maybe and perhaps most likely a F2P P2Win one, Ore packs! Ore packs! Ore packs! …nah they probably just remove industry and make it into a Eve Echo PC clone, clocks seem to be ticking for the end of Eve’s Sandbox days…
To not create even more annoying and frustrating experiences. Although, you are probably right. Why change a running trainwreck when you can just continue on the track and enjoy the flaming.
CCPlease consider your monetization strategy! I don’t wanna see this game dying before it’s time (German term dunno know whether it’s correctly translated by me). Plex might not be perfect but better. Why? You can’t directly buy something with plex but with isk you will flood the market and it will crash.
I can promise you two things:
- If you start selling isk directly which is probably what you want the market crashes within days if not hours.
- If you start selling isk directly which is probably what you want a lot of players will quit. Not just unsub. You will loose literally every Alpha player and a lot Omegas.
So if this should be what you want go on but if not ask the players for feedback how you could earn money without having to destroy everything you have. What you do is like burning all bridges in eve for 10 or 20 billion isk.
But I like the three months of lower taxes good work! (No sarcasm)
Too little too late
Seems the “CCP Grand Hiest” is a more popular topic than the event, at least judging by early comments.
Fun fact: there was a hint in in-universe world news (though only yesterday), about reducing tax load needed to fun Edenecom or something such.
Also fun fact: to my knowledge, no one tinfoiling about what the news might mean guessed right.
That’s 2.35e8 Z (or more) I can invest in my Costco runs. Thank you, CCP!
relist fees and removing of 0.01 isk trading.
But somehow I’m glad that not only CCP have no clue about own market.
Anybody in mind? I think every industrialist knows his market.
Giving ISK will only make everything more expensive, because suddenly people will have more ISK and will be able to pay higher price, driving price of everything up with bigger demand. Great way to make players savings that they already had a lot less meanigfull. What will be more in demand will be also PLEX, and PLEX price will rise even more.
I drew that connection earlier this morning when I saw this News Round up, too.
