Unless you are in Nicarauga…with its Freshwater Sharks. I don’t think a guppy is going to see sharks much.
That said…whales tend to be targeted by things like Orcas.
The problem is ecosystem of EVE is dealing with gankers like they are bass…when they are basically invasive snakehead fish. You need targets and food, but if one fish species [gankers] is constantly eating away at the “fry” [ie baby fish] don’t be surprised if the rest of the fish starve and the ecosystem collapses.
Thats why a ganker who controls themself and understands the reality of EVEs ecosystem…and when to “harvest” their targets…is a smart ganker. I also find it interesting that we are not having a discussion of standing ganking fleets…that some larger mining groups use to push people out of their mining grids. [There is more resources elsewhere…but since alot of changes have been detrimental to the mining community…this has created another facet to this problem. And the willingness of some corps to using alt ganking to drive off competition or to monopolize resources. Not a peep on this front.]
I understand ganking a mouthy miner…there are some groups who should get a boot from time to time. But remember constant hostility and distrust also erodes the social fabric of EVE. And that has impacts on its ecology and economy.
I would say a more hands off approach to miners who are just mining…and tryinig to stay heads down. Some players have alot of pride in building up their first ship…with the minerals they have mined. [Let them have that moment.]
I also find it funny that Gankers (snakehead fish-very aggressive)…don’t really fight with Gate Campers. (catfish-who just like to sit and have things flow into their mouth) Which would be kind of nice to see some interaction as some groups to try clear some routes so more lowsec movement = more targets to catch.
Which if Fenris ever adjusts where Pirate Insurgencies happen…would mean more content.
Also never treat miners as fodder…because occasionally they do fight back…or build some wacky fits. Sometimes a small fish is more poisonous than any big or small fish.
They are integral with the ecosystem, just make sure you carefully prune, pick, or harvest your targets with care…and there will always be plentiful targets galore. But if you pour salt on the ground and poison it, don’t be surprised when people move to other areas, or refused to interact [dock up etc.]
No idea I just witness the carnage while munching my popcorn. ![]()

Thats all i do now,
Its just the same senseless banter in every thread now. Gone are the more entertaining threads of the old forums.

I’ve mentioned a number of times that I’ve done that myself. All the ganks I’ve done were in a char performing that function. But unlike a dedicated ganking corp, it was all a bit disorganised…as people had main chars they were mostly on. Thus it was never really all that efective.
