You read this stuff as much as I and we both see players like Uta asking for a free ride when mining. “I just want to chill with my friends.” If you want to exempt mining ships from pvp, it may actually work? Mission runners lose ships, null used to lose big ships but that seems to have reduced over the yrs. With the plethora of mining ships out there reproducing like rabbits, I don’t see why thay should be exempt.
But a lot of new players seem to think they will get paid even if there is no demand.
Fair enough haha, to each their own ^^ for some, ships have more value, meaning when it’s something you have built on your own from scratch. Sentimental value & all. But I totally understand the distaste for the activity itself ^^
Resource gathering is PvP, you’re competing with others for them. Industry is PvP, because the products end up on the market - where you’re competing with others via buy and sell orders.
I also agree with Arthur on this. I pretty sure that most of the veteran miners…and some new ones…that have been here for at least a few years fully understand how the ore market works and what it takes to sustain it. I would also agree with you about many not knowing how it all works. Weve seen some pretty good examples in some of these threads already.
Ive been mining almost full time since i made this character in 2010. Ive met many very market savvy miners in my time here. They were all very well verse in it all…from the actual mining it, checking the prices, knowing when to sell, etc. Many of them i would go as far to say they were the true “Excel Online” warriors…like extreme style.
I learned a lot from those people…many of the small tricks of the trade i still use today, and they still work.

No PVP in Exordium. Grade-0 ore with near zero value but not a problem if you don’t care about the value of your mining.
You can roam and chill in a zero risk environment. Of course, no risk means very low rewards but if it’s not your goal after all it won’t be a drawback.

None of it is made up, it’s fairly obvious who your past alts are to those that have been around long enough to have encountered your previous incarnations.
