Exactly what i say…no change is stagnation…being proud of 26 years doing the same is not only wrong by a tactical standard. It’s also a lie to oneself that ‘all is well with the game’…
Things(games) change, that’s a sign of the time, the sad part is that you try to defend the exakt same tactic that has let THIS game to a declining status of maybe 5k - 10k REAL players(not multiple account users, REAL, EXISTING players…).
The account numbers may look good on paper, but it’s not real, it’s 5 k people with 5 accounts each…
Ask yourself…does this look ‘healthy’ to you?
Account numbers don’t matter. What matters is the financial profits FC makes per year. I understand it’s around $60 mil. It could always be more with the right manipulations and player prodding.
Highsec without PvP? 
5k players with 5 accounts each brings in the same income as 25k players. BTW, Where did you pull those numbers from? Because I suspect that your colon is feeling a little violated right now.

Let me try to explain : there was a REASON pearl abyss sold eve back to fc…and the reason was NOT lying in the profitability of the game, the reason was the OPPOSITE of it.
The game simply made too less money for such an company to keep it.
This seems to be so bad that they even were willing to take the 100 million loss just to get rid of the toxcidity of it(they sold it back to fc with this loss, the numbers are public).
Why should they do something like that if they are sane?
Well, the answer is obvious, 2 possibilities

they desperately needed money(which is, according to the latest numbers they released highly doubtable)

OR the ‘shiny monthly report’ fc spits out like it is the best buisness message of the decade are some kind of ‘wrong’ in a matter of ‘not entirely correct’…and this leds me to
