I wonder if they took also the lowered gravity into account, and how weightless the mole would be. Maybe it would do better with smaller diameter and being heavier.
Well, apparently the issue they’ve encountered is that regolite at the landing site is looser and more slippery than expected. The mole relies on friction against the walls to not bounce back on its two-stroke digging action, but friction is insufficent and the mole just bounces up and down instead of digging itself deeper. Mars is a tricky place and not even sand bothers itself to behave as expected…
I am just thinking, if heavier objects have trouble going up, and easier going down, then maybe that would be sufficient.
They should have been doing more tests when developing it.
I think, if they get samples of soil out, they can also read the past from it.
They measure the temperature.
What else are they doing on Mars with HP3 (Instrument) ? I didn’t read most of it yet.

Huh… those days when your holiday cottage by the sea becomes a underwater property…
Luckily the holiday houses were all empty but one owned by the survivor who filmed the landslide after running to high ground. Also a dog was rescued from the sea.
The cause was a underground layer of a kind of clay called quick clay, a very unstable clay which forms under the sea and tends to lose its structural integrity when washed by fresh water. Heavy snowmelt was all it required for the clay layer to transition to liquid phase and flow to the sea with everything above it. The final irony is that now that it’s exposed to sodium ions from saltwater, the clay will solidifiy again.

I found a way to Import Images and Videos from my iPhone, by connecting the USB cable to the desktop, which prompts with an image when loading.
I couldn’t get the phone to transfer data before.
The 2nd option only has a few files, even the 1st option uses the same encryption from the 2nd option, to load the 1st option to the hard disk.
There is a way to remove the files from the phone after they are transferred.
They are apparently not loaded on the iCloud, although, some are, when commanded to be copied to it, although there is no internet connection on the phone.
It seems to have used the connection from the desktop after a few hours.
Well… The Lord of the Flies is still a good read.
Oh darn! I can’t remember the account details for the Fock sisters!

The Battle of the Atlantic , the longest continuous military campaign[7][8] in World War II, ran from 1939 to the defeat of Nazi Germany in 1945, covering a major part of the Naval history of World War II. At its core was the Allied naval blockade of Germany, announced the day after the declaration of war, and Germany’s subsequent counter-blockade. The campaign peaked from mid-1940 through to the end of 1943.
The Battle of the Atlantic pitted U-boats and other warships of the German Kriegsmarine (Navy) and aircraft of the Luftwaffe (Air Force) against the Royal Navy, Royal Canadian Navy, United States Navy, and Allied merchant shipping. Convoys, coming mainly from North America and predominantly going to the United Kingdom and the Soviet Union, were protected for the most part by the British and Canadian navies and air forces. These forces were aided by ships and aircraft of the United States beginning September 13, 1941.[9] The Germans were joined by submarines of the Italian Regia Marina (Royal Navy) after Germany’s Axis ally Italy entered the war on June 10, 1940.
