The like and get likes thread II

Its completely gone when you realize the size of the universe, how small atom is, and how big and advanced the thing outside what we know may be. :alien:

Imagine what we know, all this universe, being only a speck of dust on the shell of some snail.

Very large-scale integration (VLSI ) is the process of creating an integrated circuit (IC) by combining millions of MOS transistors onto a single chip.

VLSI began in the 1970s when MOS integrated circuit chips were widely adopted, enabling complex semiconductor and telecommunication technologies to be developed.

The microprocessor and memory chips are VLSI devices. Before the introduction of VLSI technology, most ICs had a limited set of functions they could perform.

An electronic circuit might consist of a CPU, ROM, RAM and other glue logic.

VLSI lets IC designers add all of these into one chip.

History

Background

The history of the transistor dates to the 1920s when several inventors attempted devices that were intended to control current in solid-state diodes and convert them into triodes.

Success came after World War II, when the use of silicon and germanium crystals as radar detectors led to improvements in fabrication and theory.

Scientists who had worked on radar returned to solid-state device development. With the invention of the first transistor at Bell Labs in 1947, the field of electronics shifted from vacuum tubes to solid-state devices.

In computer programming, glue code is executable code (often source code) that serves solely to “adapt” different parts of code that would otherwise be incompatible.

Glue code does not contribute any functionality towards meeting program requirements.

Instead, it often appears in code that lets existing libraries or programs interoperate, as in language bindings or foreign function interfaces such as the Java native interface, when mapping objects to a database using object-relational mapping, or when integrating two or more commercial off-the-shelf programs.

Yes, the reason they wouldn’t believe him is why he actually picked up the guy from falling, because he wanted to make that joke about not believing him.
He needed someone to actually listen to him, to find out if they were going to believe him, and the only around then was going to fall and miss the punch line.

I couldn’t sleep sound, lovelies.
Yiole’s post reminded me of this 10 minute episode of FOX Kids’s Mad Jack the Pirate from 1998 and I woke up to do a quick search and watched it:

Plot Spoilers

For those who don’t care to watch it: Mad Jack and his sidekick, Snuk, go the “Dungeons,Dragons,Wizards and Warriors Convention” and steal a magic wand from a wizard there. The wand is used to obtain pleasures from “Enchantress Victoria” on The Island of 999 Delights. Our protagonist and his sidekick, once they reach the island, they enter the castle and open the Enchantress’s sarcophagus only to find that she turns into a large demon. Jack asks about what happened to 999 delights and she replies that the delights are HERS. In the next scene, Mad Jack is seen lying down in wrappings on his ship, while Snuk is writing down all the tortures in numerical order.

I’m watching Good Omens until I get tired and go back to bed again.

After don’t really know how many weeks, i’ve finished watching Sons Of Anarchy (all 7 seasons). It’s been a strange ride since I’m not into motorbikes and can’t really say I’ve liked the series a lot… but enough to watch it whole, if even 6 or 7 years too late. Some production details I’ve liked, like people being wounded in one episode and then show different stages of healing their wounds on next episodes.

Now i’m considering whether to watch something else or what… but for now and today, I’m off to bed after a last check at Quora notifications. Nighties lovelies!

Also: how to install 15 MWh worth of battery storage…

…apparently this Tesla’s MegaPack installation will serve as backup for the local network, and is quite smaller than a standard one of similar capacity.
