“even the CEOs who are engaging in the race have stated that whoever wins has a significant probability of causing human extinction in the process, because we have no idea how to control systems more intelligent than ourselves.”

MB ThePhotographer bows deeply to Mr. Togi for his editing skills.

Computers are obsolete after 3 years as computers double in power every year, in 3 years computers are 8 times as powerful.
It is easy to get a 3 year old computer for nothing, no excuses.
OMG… Steam is pitching EVE Online to me because it has “character customization”…
Compared to most MMO’s there’s really not much to customize. We need aura’s and special effects like they have for ship SKINS.
Well… it’s time to go to sleep… night night lovelies!
Also: sometimes your grands just loaded teir life in a wagon and went West
Photograph: The Townsend-Penwell family and their wagon at Loup Valley, Nebraska, ca 1886
The cost of moving West in the 1880s was anything between the equivalent of 30,000 to 40,000 current dollars. Wagons used to go west weren’t any special kind, they were ordinary farm wagons and thus they weren’t specially expensive or durable. Joining a wagon train was the safest way to travel, but the price for joining a train could be as high as 1,000 $ per family, specially if they didn’t own a wagon, beasts of burden or supplies. Those 1000 dollars amounted to a year and a half of wages of a manual laborer, and they often struggled to even save any money month to month. People moving west would often sell all their non-movable possessions to afford the migration.
America is huge. Looks like a solution to homelessness and poverty - chuck you tent onto your wagon and off you go. Resupply by ganking fellow travellers. And don’t forget to buy a mining permit from your local Safety officer before you set off.
My pc mobo made it over 12 yrs! 1st one I didn’t burn out in 2. All the new parts for Frankenstein #8 have started to arrive. I had to buy a new case simply because had I use tinsnips to fit the last vid card.

Also: my grandpa didn’t got the family to accept calling me “bunny”, but for some reason it floated better to call me “Mistinguett” until he had a stroke and lost speech (completely unrelated events). I don’t have a memory of him calling me Mistinguett, I was too young when he had the accident. Admittedly, I was blonde with curly hair until aged 3, and there are a few pictures from my 2nd Christmas to prove it.
