… I have a habit of falling asleep on them. Plop in seat, headphones on, music on, and then drift to sleep until it’s my stop.

I did this a lot when riding the bus as well, was never a fun experience to wake up 30 minutes beyond your stop though.

Nah, they never did that. Most of the routes I’d use are 24hr routes so they just keep going until the drivers shift is over and handed over to the new driver.
That’s the only time they clear the bus so the new driver can do his check for trash and anything wrong.
I’ve never dozed off that long, fortunately
