Inaccurate meme IMO. Most people won’t publish private things online
You’d be surprised…
Nah, I’ve seen the lot but just don’t think it can be generalized like that
Oh believe me… I work in that sector… People don’t give a ■■■■. Or they’re just too stupid. Very likely both.
Well, then I understand why you’re generalizing this.
Any person using Facebook, Google, Twitter, Android, …
Any of that non-sense. They do not give a ■■■■ about their privacy.
Then every now and then you have a major outcry about #insertbadthinghere but that’s about it. No action taken and a few days later people forgot it ever happened.
Look forward to global surveillance and a totalitarian police state near you.
Maybe these people dont care because they are poor and have nothing to lose.
Too many people puplish private things, too many.
In most cases, it’s just too much information about things, you won’t realy know about them.
I must not know each tiny detail about some people.
Doesn’t work when it’s 99.99% of humanity.
Hmm, do you think we are on to the path predicted by Orwell or Huxley? or maybe both?
We aren’t on the path, we’re pretty much there already.
But where directly? Both have some means of being fairly accurate in some parts.
Mass surveillance, check.
Oppression of minorities, check.
Mass propaganda and brainwashing, check.
Censorship, check.
Humans still dumb as ■■■■, check.
That’s what comes to mind without even thinking about it.
Its like the future employs different people to pull different strings, and everyone is pulling towards himself.
No idea why I even care. Humans are too dumb and selfish to be worth saving anyway…
A few more years until AGI arrives and then we’re all doomed either way.
In general, most of those things haven’t changed since stone age so what’s your point? We should’ve evolved by now?
Then we will live and post in postdoom environment.
We are the best what evolution had to offer.
Any intelligent species would have, yes.
