The like and get likes thread

They all look amazing

The computer is ok, but good lord… the fan was designed for 4000 RPM and by the frequency, It ramped up to 10K then the system just shut off… I hate firmware updates  With the 1.11 version that is said to “improve system performance”, I now only have a 2% drop in over all performance as compared to the previous 20%

Time to relax

Good? Bad? Wrong? Right? Don’t use expletives when conveying relevant information.

As I dont know the technical details, I am just trusting what AMD wrote here:
https://www.amd.com/en/corporate/speculative-execution

AMD is vulnerable to variants 1 and 2 (Spectre), just as pretty much every CPU out there that implements speculative execution. Spectre is a hardware vulnerability that requires a firmware upgrade (selectively disabling speculative execution) to be mitigated. “Patching” it requires an architecture redesign.
Only Intel is vulnerable to variant 3 (Meltdown), but that can be patched in software at the cost of severe performance loss.

Spectre is hard to exploit and hard to mitigate, Meltdown is pretty much a joke to exploit.

Protogenoi is swarming on that Grand Terrestial like moths drawn to light…

ViktorShade is CYVOK. He threw all he had at that station and lost the remainder of his fleets (he welped a ■■■■ ton just 2 weeks ago in the biggest battle we had the entire alpha). That means all he can do now is sit back for the last 73 hours until the round is over.

We’re going to get back our Grant Terrestial Planet…

Wow, looks like things have been heating up in the E:D universe! Thargoids have attacked three outposts at the Pleiades, citizens are leaving the core systems for Colonia settlements (that’s a 20,000 light years trip IIRC) and Lakon has launched a heavily armed version of the Type 9 freighter, called the Type 10 Defender, as a first response to the increasing Thargoid attacks on shipping.

I wonder what does Ishtanchuk have to say about this…

Nighties lovelies!

Walk up. Put in coin. Call someone. These are all gone (mostly) in my area. But as i have witnessed. There are some, and they still work!

There’s one just down the street from here, but it’s not as pretty as that one, more silver and grey. I forget they are around, but it’s like an “Ode to the old days”

Well, AMD stated something slightly different than what I have seen in news reports, and i have seen what you wrote earlier in news so I would rather trust AMD with their response. Would they not know their own CPUs? And Intel PR trying to fool you with their “its working as designed” and trying to sunk everyone with them at the same time is probably what made news reports state that everyone is afected equally by Spectre.

I still dont see the WIS in Elite. :pensive:

Only SC made a jump on this feature in such a scale.
Really it looks like 16GB of RAM wil be needed. :exploding_head:

They will keep it in development for quite some time it looks. Money is not ending soon.
