Because they are. Every CPU that implements speculative execution is prone to Spectre. It is hard to implement a working exploit and pull it off, but the possibility exists.

Differences in AMD architecture mean there is a near zero risk of exploitation of this variant. Vulnerability to Variant 2 has not been demonstrated on AMD processors to date.

Near-zero is not zero and just because there is no (public) PoC yet doesn’t mean they aren’t exploitable.

I am having this sometimes.

As for distractions, I think people just like nice distractions and then it becomes a habit. But at the same time they are capable of having those “flows”, they just dont want to, habit takes over when distraction is always in proximity…

Well I unsuccessfully tried to get DCS World to run in Linux again. I guess its just one of those games that’s impossible to run on anything but windows. I’m pretty sure the issue has to do with the copy protection they use and there is really nothing that can be done about that unfortunately.

They are however converting to a new copy protection system this year so hopefully it may be possible in the future to run DCS on Linux. They also are looking at Vulkan integration so that’s another good sign.
