Don’t forget the Kernite, which is in lowsec (at least for those who didn’t spot the big amount of Kernite in one of the career mission sites because they don’t know how to fix their Overview)
But I agree with OP. The NPE does not teach the NPs the core gameplay itself. If anything, the complete AIR career program teaches them only the grind aspect. A missed opportunity or a work in progress, we’ll see…
Yeah I saw increased number of new players mining in Kubinen. But actually you don’t have to wander to lowsec for Kernite, one of the mission from career agents has lots of it and you can make the challenge there. Of course, new players don’t know that. Or if they know this as they already done the mission, they don’t know that they can redo career agents in different sector.
But that is what we want isn’t it? And it is not the only challenge that makes the new player enter dangerous space, there are plenty of more. At least this done AIR well if nothing else.
i think its a catch 22
because
its better for attraction to pretend EVE is some kind of epic space flight simulator
but OFC it would be better for the new players to have some kind on awareness that EVE is a space MMO with full loot (a niche game)
Knowing full well right off the bat that EVE is a harsh, unforgiving world didn’t stop us from playing. And by us I mean vets and players with an IQ higher than that of a couch cushion…
Oh, you too ? Guess we’ll both have to HTFU or GTFO. I guess the quote from a 1963 novel, even in context of the reply, was too much to stomach for someone. Lol, good times, proves the point in more and unexpected ways than intended.
Someone didn’t like my edit either and flagged it as well. Since it didn’t break any forum rules, and was as much “off topic” as the one it originially replied to (which is still there), someone must be having a very bad Monday.
