@The_Oz What is your take on the decrease of the value of ISK due to ingame inflation?
Well, this was a topic Oz actually covered in his latest review of the Monthly Economic Report, I’d recommend watching, it was very informative, (as I’ve found all of Oz’s content to be since I returned to the game this year).
What I learned from that review was that. The price indices show that broadly whilst mineral prices have risen a lot since 2018, other factors around output have not (as shown by primary and secondary producer indices), the end result is the consumer price index reflecting actual consumer prices has remained steady.
Thus the MER shows, for a long time now there has been overall no real inflation, despite continued growth in the supply of money due to direct isk creation from npc sold goods, such as red and blue loot.
(MER here: Monthly Economic Report - July 2023 | EVE Online - Page referenced is Economic Indices - Sine 2018).
Of course, this does not mean some items have not had inflation, and in particular items with large mineral components, such as ships, have risen. Others, such as say learning implants, have remained steady for many years.
This implies a mineral supply issue rather than an inflation issue, which would agree with what we know around scarcity and the ongoing shortages of Isogen and Megacyte.
Exactly. We need subject matter experts for multiple areas. FW, macro eco, wormholes, fleet combat, industry, etc…… with a couple generalists. If a CCP dev wants to get feedback on a specific topic being able to go under nda to a specialist or a generalist is probably good.
The Oz taking part in community life. This fact is enough for me to say that he is one of the best candidates for CSM.
Pvp,Pve,null,Wh - doesn’t matter! He is with the community. What else do u need?
A solid background and trackrecord with an expertise that impacts the game everywhere. What would set you apart from other candidates with a similar expertise and do you think working together with them will result in synergie or just overlap?
Good luck with your run!
@The_Oz would you back any idea mentioned below as CSM member?
- Insane idea - pay with PLEX in NES for extra dev time
- Quafe+ is from "biomass" (...or corpse reprocessing)
- Little things / Small QoL suggestions - Better Visibility Of Other Players’ PI Networks
- Little things / Small QoL suggestions - 13 requests for Stack Split enhancment since Jun’18
- Little things / Small QoL suggestions - PI KB-shortcuts for toggling between groups of structures
We are not currently seeing significant inflation in EVE. While the money supply is increasing over time, ISK velocity has been decreasing and therefore keeping inflation in check.
The biggest risk that could lead to rampant inflation currently is C5/C6 blue loot, which represents a massive chunk of the overall ISK influx via faucets.
My most recent MER analysis on YouTube.
Thank you! What other candidates are you referring to if I may ask? AngryMustache is the only one who comes to mind and he is much more null-industry focused rather than markets and trading. I think the CSM would benefit from both of us joining forces. I have spoken to him on shows and off air and we were able to synergize well.
Here is a Talking in Stations MER Analysis with both of us if you are curious.
I like the QoL suggestions. PI visibility of other players is terrible for no reason. It has bugged me for a long time.
1 is not going to work for many reasons so I would not back it.
2 is funny and well thought out, but it would be an inconsistency in the PI system. As a structure loving individual, it rubs me the wrong way.
Angry Mustache is definitely another big hitter, but there are other candidates as well with economy and industry as their expertise. Thanks for clarifying the distinction between you and Angry Mustache, that does seem like solid synergy.
Oh for sure! I did not mean that as “there are no other candidates with thyt type of expertise”, I was genuinely curious since I have not read all forum posts. <3
I want to address this specifically, because I deal with this a lot and something important always seems to get lost in these arguments. The wonderful and unique thing about EVE is that it is much closer to a sandbox than most other MMOs. You can make your EVE experience whatever you want it to be. I play EVE because it allowed me to not only play a certain style, but teach and create entertaining content around a topic a large part of the player base did not pay much attention to. All this with amazingly positive feedback from the community.
I think it is fundamentally wrong and incredibly short sighted to characterize EVE as mainly a space combat PVP game. EVE is so much more than that. It’s an economic simulation, a space politics game, a trucking simulator, and so much more!
So next time you are telling someone that “your” playstyle is the most important part in EVE Online, maybe take a step back and think about how wonderful it is that there are so many different playstyles and small cogs that make up EVE Online as a whole.
I think you will inevitably reach the conlcusion that all playstyles are by definition great and equally important in making EVE, EVE.
- You call that a “meltdown”?
- I completely stand by what I said. It’s not about CCP randomly raiding someone else. It’s about CCP not raiding The Oz Tank in that particular situation.
Big Donkey Garry is a troll who already spammed Pando’s thread, until ISD stepped in and deleted all their ramblings.
Thanks for the heads up! o7
It was pretty sad for a grown person to act that way especially when they are running for a position that requires compromise.
Post the clip and everyone can make up their mind.
@The_Oz I’ve asked all the other candidates that have posted that they’re running these set of questions. You are lucky last.
- What has CCP gotten right?
- What has CCP gotten wrong?
- What do you wish existed in-game that doesn’t?
- What exists in-game that you wish didn’t?
- What exists in-game that you think ought to continue to exist?
- What doesn’t exist in-game that you hope never comes into existence?
- How would you improve PI?
- How would you improve the entire corporation UI?
You missed mike. And several others it seems
On it thanks
