The problem CCP Created

How do other PVP games survive, I wonder? CounterStrike, Dota, League, etc. These are all PVP games, “total massacre hubs”, yet they are doing some big numbers.

people are not animals, until you understand this the systems will go down one by one and you can go to the zoo…

So you think ganking does not happen in 1.0 system? You would be wrong!

Well yesterday I checked zkill to see which systems had the most activity in devoid and metro. These are faction warfare regions btw. Surprisingly Ohide had the most kills by a long shot. Thats highsec. Now you see the problem here?

Instead of forcing people into lowsec/null/wormholes to pvp they can literally site on a gate and blap non pvpers for shiny stuff. If ganking is the eve meta. Then buff the transports and definitely the freighters. Literaly everyone is ganking in highsec because its the most lucrative isk/per hour activity

I think u misunderstood what i meant by “its not what the game is supposed to be”, i meant that i agree with you, the game isnt supposed to be a very safe place.

Id love to see those stats cuz im pretty sure they have been in a nosedive. If you are refering to the “new accounts” numbers, i can only guess that they are alts of seasoned players.

Im not assuming anything. Im just focusing on the bit that’s relevant to the OP, it doesnt matter if there are 3billion different activities in the game. The fact is that its a multiplayer game and if a multiplayer game can not attract newcomers, its gonna stay a cult classic till it drops those invested players aswell and dies off completly. And if you make it so the newcomers are targeted, spam killed, unable to travel thru the “safe zones” in a realistically easy way, they are not gonna stick around. You have to have BEGINNER zones in drop loot upon death games.

You are joking right? Mhm, lets compare an mmo with instanced 5v5 competitive games.

Wow, this topic got out of hand didn’t it!

To OP: you don’t need to be able to kill literally every ship, everywhere. You want to go klll multi-billion isk ships? There’s a hundred different ways to do it. Suspect bait in HS. Camp lowsec / nullsec entry systems. Whale hunting. Hit only wardeccable corps in HS. Hell, war dec the NS blocs and gank their HS mission runners. I’ve tried most of these out, they’re viable.

What you’re actually saying is that you’re upset that it takes a bit of effort to get shiny noob kills in HS. Sorry mate, but this is exactly why HTFU came into being.

When I first started in Eve I was a miner living in high sec. My corp was pretty chill, I was newbro mining and sucking up those dank Porp / Ocra boosts. Then another corp decided they wanted our system for the belts, so of course wardecced. Lost my Retriever. Lost my backup Retriever. No more money making, and all my newbro skills were in learning and mining, so I couldn’t do anything about it. Don’t forget, no skill extractors or injectors back then either. After a couple of weeks not being able to undock, I quit.

Is that a common experience? Who knows, maybe? All I know is that these days that wouldn’t have gone down quite like that, so there’s a better chance I woulda kept in game for the 4 years I was out of game. Hell, I’d probably be a trillionaire by now.

■■■■ no. I played before the changes to the war dec system. It was pure hell being constantly deced by a group of nerds that sit in a trade hub all day just waiting to kill someone from one of their 200 wardecs. That game play loop sucked and I’m not going through it again. Your idea is terrible.
