I do not think there is a solution. Solar and wind aren’t bad and certainly better than coal or gas plants.
But the little they produce can’t sustain an economy. Let alone a currency.
I know how it works, my opinion is that it’s a flawed system. Not only my opinion. It changes every day so you can say “Oh, no that was yesterday’s way of BTC calculation” but I’m sure even over 10 years BTC will be a wasteful thing that can’t be used as a general currency.
BTC is today -9.250,90 (-28,79%) from last year… still down, isn’t there someone who was tracking how whales are selling slowly? I can’t find it atm, I’ll post when I found it.

We will need to see how solar panels are recycled or disposed of, once they crack they are harmful to human health, not to mention, where do they get disposed of? In Africa? or a similar country?

BTC is down yes, but that is only in relation to how many people have BTC and how much BTC is available. Also the value is fine as it is, I refuse to believe BTC is only an investment that people make money from. It is a currency and a very secure money transfer network. People can sell all the BTC they want, I will still be here mining for BTC payments.

I think you underestimate the insane potential for solar and wind. There are also hydro and geothermal.
Currently, around 60% of electricity in the US alone are wasted. Bitcoin could not only be completely ran on this waste energy, it would still use a tiny fraction of a percent of it. Also you still don’t understand it, Bitcoin doesn’t require this energy, it scales to the amount miners are willing to use. It could run from a battery, wouldn’t be very secure though.

Also you might not even get to see the gold or touch it, so I must ask, does the gold one can buy actually exist? or is it another scam where there is no gold and they just hold your money or invest in other things and pay you out of the profit?

Plants when burned are gone. Coal when burned is gone, Gas when burned is gone. Nuclear fuel is spent eventually. Sun is going to run out of matter for fusion. We are never going to have unlimited energy, we are also not living in harmony with nature, since we took the rock and throw it to kill the prey.
What is sustainable?
Everything what “intelligent” and toll using creatures do, is disrupting the natural order of the world. Civilizations are not living in harmony with nature, any “intelligent” creature is actually uninteligent enough to disrupt its environment, by wanting to assure its evolutionary success, and that evolutionary pressure from environment created in result can be creatures own demise. Its like living by constantly getting loans, not paying back, and dying in poverty because eventually the bank takes your house and everything what you had.
And why you would care what comes after you? It will be not your experience. You are postponing the inevitable.
People can have ideas about creating sustainable economy, getting into space, starting mining asteroids, populating whole universe with intelligent creatures, but all that is only postponing the inevitable. The earth will be uninhabitable in 1.5 billion years anyway. The home of all living creatures will be a scorched desert. Humans would have to leave solar system eventually. In the unimaginable future when all stars will burn out, what use intelligence will be?
Civilization living in harmony with nature is not needing its intelligence, and money. The life appears and is gone, bones remaining until they are ground to dust in eventually lifeless universe. What you or me experience is not going to last, BTC also.
In other words, we are doomed. Drink and dance, but titanic is going underwater, and nobody is going to survive.
Some people already advise to just lay down and die.

Gold has nice monetary properties, but it is hard to verify and not easy transportable trough space. Those flaws where it’s downfall as a currency as they gave rise to the fiat system.
Bitcoin fixes this flaws. It’s the first designed currency from the ground up. It shares a lot of golds traits, but improves heavily on the issues it had.
Typical, they always try to paint the worst picture possible.

Yet you even waste your time talking about money you think will fail anyway and is just a scam.
Hydro is also a big issue as the turbines kill and injure some of the fish that pass through the turbine just like the very large (not the home ones) wind turbines slaughter birds. That and the loss of soil fertility from sediment trapped behind the dams. More is being looked into but there is never a clean way to make (a lot of) energy.
Not sure how geothermal is bad but I’m sure we’ll fine out one day, CCP lives in Iceland where geothermal is used a lot. Maybe Atlantis also used geothermal, not sure what happened to that land Plato referred to. 
Guys, guys, guys, you know I only do the “1 year ago” thing. You can do the same, let’s see if in a year you don’t need to scale up.
If she can keep people from investing in BTC, at least she will make those people’s life better and less stressful. 
That aside, honestly, this is probably the finest BTC conversation in the world (outside of echo chambers).
