I trained my max skill Titan pilot before skill injectors were a thing.
I’m curious, what benefit is there to me for training ALL those skills to lvl 6?
Capital Autocannon specialisation gave me 2% bonus to damage per lvl - Now you want me to train another long ass skill that will take a month or more to complete, for another 2% damage?
No thanks.,.

Pilots have ample opportunity to specialise in a given area of the game, there is no need to complicate this and add more time by adding skill lvl’s to existing skills.
Unless you want to be an “I can only do this” pilot, you need skills in different areas. Even a highsec mission runner might want to use different types of ships and weapons for different things - This should in no way ever be discouraged.,.

@ISD_Buldath You guys must be tired of constantly getting flag notifications. I’m sure you all have better things to do so thank you for taking the time to clean out the garbage. Unfortunately some people just won’t stop posting insults and personal attacks so you’ll definitely have more work to do.

People are being civil, on topic and making suggestions…problem?

Do you actually play the game? There is plenty of sense of accomplishment and there is most definitely soul and spirit.

The coward flaggers are out again…

@Elzon1

i think you are wrong … if you can fly and use anything at day one you wouldhave stoped to play years ago

the skilling and waiting ist a huge part of EVE … you wait a month for 1 skill from lvl4 to lvl5 and then you finaly have it … thats huge thing

if you get everything for free at day one there is no goal
20 years seams long but do you really need all things? really all skills?
how many accounts you have? they all get all skills to lvl5?

and of corse you want you can extract 50% of your skillpoints to make easy isk … but … the injector price will fall stright down to the floor if that happens … please think just a bit

I want my like back

As far as I can tell, you are one of the main coward flaggers.

…and do tell how you know that.

Not quite what you want, but I gave you one of mine. “Take what you can get”, my mamma always said.

If by this you mean the reduction of SP, you are incorrect. Faster completion rates to acquire things will significantly impact player retention. This is because there will be a big draw of emotion and psychological attachment to “the next, newest, best thing”. That is the single purpose why Vertical progression systems have been the primary form of development for the industry.

The only way to do that is to make skills mutually exclusive. For example, you can only train caldari tech, and cannot learn armor tech as a shield based race.

Passives would break the games balance rate at that point, but i’d expect you’d like that.

I did not say that, I said there is no propose in it. Look at all the corps out there. Your corp may of found some very rare gem that others have not, but for the general corporations, its all a collection of numbers, ultimately to fill the pocket of someone, or someones.

Not everyone is friends, actually, we are structured in a similar way that eve is. A few high sec systems for three races, and the rest nullsec. Did you forget, im a pvper at heart?

I have been playing eve since its foundation.

I’d suggest you go do the NPE - It gets you to shoot a few NPC’s in a very unrealistic situation. It gets you to pick up some cargo - Then it tells you you’re done and to dock up - End of NPE.

There is nothing about the horribly designed UI (which has got better over the years but is still really bad). There is nothing about what to train next, there isn’t even a hint, unless you know where to look about the skill tree and how it works.

NB; I didn’t “rush” him through it - I sat in station and answered his questions. Not my fault the NPE is so basic a 3 year old could complete it and still know so little about the game it is scary.,.

IMO anyone who takes more than 10 or 15 minutes to complete the NPE, isn’t going on to play Eve.,. The slowest (and worst) part of the whole NPE is the overly slow and not very helpful voice behind it…

Sorry but i’ve walked a lot of players through their first days in eve over the years. I try to be realistic and keep their expectations down (everyone has heard about how rich some players are and how easy it is to make isk).

I gave him isk - starting out in Eve with nothing is hard enough, trying to make enough for your first ship is very discouraging.
Sorry but it wasn’t anything i said or did that turned him off - It was once we had worked out a skill cue brought the skills and put in the maximum 24 hours worth that he decided it just wasn’t worth the time and effort - I even offered to buy him plex for a month to help speed up training - He declined.,.

having been around the game for 15 years AND spent a lot of time helping new players - I don’t tell them things that will discourage them - I want them to join me in playing Eve, I can’t help it if some just find skill training and low returns for effort a turnoff. We play a niche game that 90% of people laugh at, we love our game and despite what you think, I do my best to encourage new players.

you mean the bit people are getting fed up with and is killing MMOs. Because to keep vertical progression going you have to have perpetual power creep. Which leads to the eternal gear and regear cycle which people burn out on.

Basically you are suggesting hooking people on drugs and taking advantage of addictions.
Of course… given your ethics in taking advantage of newbies I’m not surprised you would advocate such a predatory approach.

You are touching on a topic that is far, far deeper then you think it is. One you seem to be ignorant of with the following statement:

Which leads to the eternal gear and regear cycle which people burn out on. [/quote]

Thats a nice strawman argument. IT will get you far with your ignorance about what power creep and VP are.

Proof please.

I’m not surprised you would advocate such a predatory approach.

You came in eve, To kill my corp, sending me mails to not power on forums and you will leave me alone and you want to talk about predatory approach?

Hypocrite. May the lord of the words curse you.

“The primary form of development” since 1974.

It may do what you say, will implies that it’s a foregone conclusion; whereas, like many things it’s not guaranteed.

Some people come to Eve to get away from that kind of thing. Slower is better sometimes.
