There are ways to put opinions about the game that don’t become a whine and then there are straight whines. I’m not immune from whining myself (though I try to keep it to a minimum).
Either way, CCP haven’t even announced the final plans for this, so it’s premature to be whining anyway.
That and on the one hand going straight to claiming if I don’t know that what is being said is true it’s only because of self interest, then immediately complaining about insults in the next post.
Go spend 30 minutes AFK in a safe in Jita, then go try the same thing in 1DQ1.
In Jita, even with 2000 non-blues in local you can sit safely AFK for half an hour (or more). You can’t do the same in an equivalent nullsec sov system.
Go autopilot a pod through most of highsec and you’ll be fine. Do the same in null and you’ll almost always be killed. In highsec, most people aren’t looking to kill you, because they don’t want the consequence handed out by CONCORD. They aren’t looking to pvp (even if they normally live in null and pvp all the time). Null is the opposite. Everyone just about will take a kill if it’s available.
Though I do hear this criticism of hammering hisec by CCP from both sides of the debate.
I tended to think that hisec needed to keep a certain relationship in terms of nullsec to cater for people wanting to rebuild after being kicked out of nullsec. But I came to the conclusion that would be better in lowsec, except that in lowsec the people there are often more able and aggressive than those in nullsec, so they had no chance.
I dream that one day in my lifetime there can be a discussion on here about a feature that doesn’t even exist yet that doesn’t turn into yet another high sec jealousy fest… complete with claims that the space without the magical space police (that spawn if someone just looks at you impolitely) is somehow, impossibly, *safer" than the space where people can kill you without any automatic/non-human consequences what-so-ever.
I think we should agree, that all sec spaces are different and need different treatment by CCP, which is regular not acknowledged by the devs (prob because of cost pressure). The spaces are not all about progression from one to the other … it’s about different and unique game play.
All the times CCP tries to make something one size fits it all, we get into balancing trouble everywhere, with later bandaid fixes, because the base design is screwed.
Yep it is,alot of the players who live in highsec and complain about null without ever leaving their little Concord safety net forget that the safety is given by the players who live there and cooperate to keep each other and their assets safe. Even so there’s alot more that can go wrong and alot more to lose in null than in highsec.
I like the idea of these sites as an explorer. I don’t think it should be completely instanced, but rather the entry exit point be a maximum scan difficulty anomoly. Then people can follow you in, or wait at the exit, but only after effort.
I’m not keen on the RNG mods though. These will become standard fit on fleets for the larger entities that can most easily farm the materials and afford them. It justs puts challenging the larger groups further out of reach.
As for limiting the access to sites based on sec location, that’s purely people trying to keep the nicest stuff to themselves.
The risk of the site is from the site itself, nothing to do with where you enter from. Null and WH already have the advantage in being able to defend the exit. No further advantage is needed, and exploration content should always be open to all to encourage it.
I am more relaxed relaxed about how prevalent these enchanted mods will become since there is one factor that people seem to be forgetting.
planning and fitting will be HELL
First you have to come up with your “enchanted” fit, then you have to manually trawl through contracts for god knows how long to find the enchanted mods it needs, then having realised you can’t find the exact variation, go back and tweak fit to the mods you could find, then you realise you can only find enough enchanted mods with the exact attributes you need for your precious enchanted fit to make one ship and if you want another you’ll have to tweak the fit again after trawling through contracts AGAIN and on and on and you realise you spend all your time on PYFA and looking at contracts and not playing so you think ■■■■ this for a laugh and go back to the fitting window in JITA and click “BUY ALL”
How many attributes are being varied per mod and at what increment ? Looking at the max 40% variation and taking only 10% increments of 4 attributes leads to 6561 possible module variations, if 5 attributes are varied that jumps to 59049 possible module variations.
Just watched keynote presentation. Very poor, it’s gettin weaker and weaker every year. It’s like they went out of ideas so start to copy some from other MMOs (and not the best ones).
New space seems something new in EvE, I didn’t hear it will be generated procedurally from the keynote thought. Well I been asking for that kind of pve content for years. Success as always will be achieved by reward side, new triglavians hulls will be dropping from those sites as well as “entachant” items. Rise mentioned those hulls will have uprecedented dps, so I expect those will be in “balance stage” for another year.
I really don’t care about improving current modules. First it is a rng mechanism. Second it will cause balance issiue for the CCP and since they will focus on balance in the future good luck with that, you just take a poop in your own bed. Third, EvE is different game than for example blizzard games, where you don’t lose your gear, I doubt expensive module will shake the pvp meta (because we have officer modules on every second ships now…). Fourth, balancing “entchaning” will be a PITA, if we get the module with same or similliar stats than deadspace why bother with enchanted ones? If they will be better than every current module why bother with balance at all? It’s a thin line of balancing and I expect they will fall in line with storyline modules, overpriced, rarely used.
Lots of “if”
I’m worried, CCP put everything into new triglavians feature which looks pale and inconsiderated. New PI changes got more claps than everything else, like PI changes !?
