These aren’t in the NES store though so whats the relevance here?
That was back in 2011 and since then we have not seen any game breaking features offered in the New Eden Store. And no, I don’t consider skill extractors as game breaking considering the limitations that have. The Daily Alpha Injectors don’t count either as their use is severely limited.
What is it will need player to spend 1+ hours tho? That’s makes a difference.
Each site collapses automatically after a limited time (5-15 minutes mentioned in the presentations).
So if you are asking, what if you need to spend 1+ hours in a site, you can’t. Once the timer is up, that’s it.
Well. Ok then. If this really will be 15 minutes then i agree, no big deal unless someone hunts you or gets incredibly lucky to find the entrance in this time prepared to attack. But this is EvE.
I assume we got no stats of the disintegrator yet do we?
Not hard stats, no.
We just know that it uses the existing mechanics of tracking, falloff, etc. and that it’s DPS increases over time when fired at the same target
There’s no falloff - just optimal.
Thats actually a question on one of the videos, I do believe they will be sold / bought via public exchange contracts, but not sure. They said they won’t be able to use regular market means, so that leaves only the contracts and direct trade.
No, they said it will take approximately 15 minutes to complete a single pocket / layer, not that it will collapse. And they also said there are currently 5 known layers, but kept it intentionally open ended so they either don’t want to give away more info right now, or the more advanced layers are still in the works. 15 min x 5 layers = 1 hour 15 minutes.
But to my understanding, you don’t have to complete whole thing, all layers to get out, each layer (pocket) will have its own thing, possibly with its own boss that you can do or skip in order to get out.
If I understood correctly, they also said you won’t be able to get out the same way you came in, you have to at least fly through 2-3 of these layers to get back out, at which point it will pop you out at your entrance point where someone may or may not be waiting for you. Since the entrance points are scannable and remain in space until you get out.
With regards to 1, there will be no actual mods dropped, or maybe your standard junk loot, but the mutagen thingies, the deeper in you go, the higher tier ones you’ll get.
To the number 2. Not sure these particular pockets will be subject to the sov rat bonusses, they have quite a bit in common with like “mini-wormholes” so its quite possible they are outside of that. Also, from the otehr video, they are quite keenly aware of the sov / null carrier ratting and changes are coming, taht is from one of the otehr videos, and also to my understanding you won’t be able to fly anything bigger then a battleship in these pockets, not even Blops or Marauders. If I recall correctly they said T1 and faction Battleships tops.
To your number 3, not quite. It will not be like gatecamping, more like wormhole camping. If you do it in a friendly space with backup available there really is no problem, if you are entirely soloing, especially in hostile space, then you of course run a risk.

Gone from T1 cruiser to faction battleship. Not that I care.
I’m talking about why on earth would you force people to fly to a remote corner of Eve to do this…
Just make them anomalies.
To your number 3, not quite. It will not be like gatecamping, more like wormhole camping.
I think you missed the point. All gate/WH camping is more like lame PvE than PvP… at the cost of unnecessary bad will for the person getting podded.
For the explorer, you might as well have the exit randomly blow you up 20% of the time – it amounts to the same thing.
I outlined how to put proper, exciting PvP into the this new content. I find it bizarre that anyone would defend gatecamping as an aspect of game design.
What about disconnects and socket closing? Will we lose our ships when inside the sites?
Friend, you got it all wrong.
- 5 tiers of filaments define difficulty level, and that is not the number of rooms in a single instance.
- They are all 3 room dungeons.
- The whole dungeon is going to take 10-20 minutes and 15 minutes on average.
- T1, T2 and faction CRUSERS https://youtu.be/Jila5v57b0A?t=840
Did you even watch the video? )
Nope. 1 pocket contains 3 encounters = 15 minutes of gameplay, after the timer end, whole space will collapse (they still thinking what penalty supposed to be where you are still inside). There are 5 pocket tiers (layers). Filament to tier 1 can be obtained from NPC and relic sites, filaments to higher tiers from completing tier 1 absymall space. So 1 hour 15 minutes if you want to go from tier 1 to 5 in one sitting.
and for something completely different.
Weather effects are consitent trought the pocket and can be checked on the filament.
- electrical storm: - EM resists, + cap recharge
- exotic particle storm: - KIN resists, + scan res
- dark matter field: - turret range, + velocity bonus
- afterglow: - EXP resists, + shield bonus
- plasma firestorm: - THER resists, + armor bonus
and then we have localised effects in each of 3 encounters.
and triglavian structure that is very good fighting drones and missiles (sorry Gila).
randomized background non interactable objects.
Close range camera only.
I was wondering about that myself.
Perma death
Yes, but before that you are forced to watch every Permaband video, then take a 42 question multiple choice exam in 21 seconds, and if you miss one question, your character is auto-biomassed for a crime against the community.
I would imagine its the same as what would happen normally, as there is no warping and you’re flagged as in combat during the entire pocket your ship will carry on doing whatever it was doing, although without a pilot its likely to get popped, if you were moving then chances are your ship will fly out of bounds and be crushed along with your pod, if you don’t die your ship will be subject to whatever happens to ships when the pocket collapses on its own if you can’t get back in time to finish the site yourself
Could ships be reimbursed for losing them for disconnects inside these pockets then?
Personally, I would see CCP announcing that while running them there is no refunds.
