Thinking about coming back after some years away... whats the state of the game?

Interesting… Is it better to sell the filaments or run them?

It is solo for cruisers, but can also done in groups of two destroyes or three frigates.

With some google searches you may be able to find entry guides and example fits to try a lower tier filament. I did try it some in a Vexor, they seem fun.

Depends, if you are able to run filaments of a certain type and tier and are interested in doing so, use them (and buy more of those). Otherwise sell them to people who want to run them.

They look interesting… was just reading up on the Uni abyssal deadspace page… How difficult are they? Uni makes a point that any ship that goes in should be considered lost, but Uni is also geared towards new players so I’m not sure how much of that statement is cautious hyperbole and how much of it is description of the actual difficulty. Definitely don’t want to dive in with a fully kit faction cruiser if there’s a good chance I won’t come back with it…

CCP cash grab? Do tell? Last I’d seen of CCP greed was that internal memo that made everyone riot…

I have to go to work in a few minutes so this reply will be short. Funny enough I think I said RvB was dead, as of 4 hours ago they suspended all events and only have 1 every few months now (so don’t join, wont be much fun). E-Uni is probably good, I may have mentioned as well I have my corp that I enjoy, but this isn’t a recruitment ad, so I will not go into detail.

Yes corrupt, several months back RvB leader was overthrown in some way shape or form, the corp was stolen by the new guy that is currently running the corporation. He was on the RvB ban list, but as the old leader was a nice person, let them back in anyway, which was the corporation’s downfall, unfortunately. Now, it’s just a bad environment. There are posts and such around with the story about how it was stolen, and the old leader was banned from the game (using connections to CCP). Corrupt it is.

I see you made a new posting alt, Blu.

What „solo content“ are you looking for?

If PVE I tend to say there is mich more than in the past, e.g. Abyssal stuff.

If PVP they join Minmatar (or Amarr, if you prefer being on the wrong side  Faction Warfare and you will find plenty of small scale content.

As Alfa chars are for free I recommend to just do it, what can you lose?

Uh, there are newbro friendly communities now. Unfortunately, WTM has started becoming more elite, but there are others.

And I’m sure USTZ inc would be glad to have. But I couldn’t find a forum posting or webpage. If you’re interested though, I’ll get you their in game chat channel.

aya-and… Eve University still has an incursion community. So, you could check them out if you do join Eve Uni.

No DBS and ESS in HS :frowning:

I highly recommend just checking out youtube tutorial videos if you’re looking to get into the abyss. Aceyface seems pretty good. Maybe start with him.

Very well could be in all honesty. All I can say I was there before and after blue was gone. All I can say is they booted people from the chat left and right whoever even brought blue up. Suspicious if you ask me. Blue was originally banned because of harassment to RvB and its members. I think it was reversed, but anyway, thats what I know. Take it with a grain of salt. Don’t really want to get into the RvB discussion idea right now.

Bottom line is → they are dead, for now.

Oh, the traitors sound like turds -no doubt. I was specifically referring to CCP banning someone based upon their connections with players.

I see. I will agree with you here. While it seems plausible, it also seems like they wouldn’t ban based upon connections or lack thereof. Doing so (if proof was discovered) would hurt the player base.

Relatively low skill point player here–just over 20m. I’d say to avoid it for now, honestly. Things are way too unstable right now. Imagine a game of tug-of-war where players are getting jerked all over the dang place because of jarring, unpredictable changes. That’s the game right now…it’s stressful more than fun anymore.

That is where the real profits are made and where the knowledgeable and capable players rise to the top. EVE as it should be.

It’s also the perfect moment to start playing as you’re not set in stone or fixated on a certain playstyle. Lots of players don’t adapt mostly because that takes brain effort and, when push comes to shove, it turns out they’re not as capable as they thought and pretended to be.

Early adopters, or newbies who need to learn anyway, have a clear advantage.

Whats the state of the game?

Still running pretty decccccccccccccccccc

Like I said, still running… more or less.
Bring some duct tape, though.

I take it they never upgraded the server hamsters to hamster v2.0…

Things have changed somewhat, in that fleets tend to be more banter-heavy when things are calm (not in a contest and no one is dying), and

While true, both WTM and TDF still have room for newbros, just that you can expect longer wait times if you didn’t x-up at the moment fleet starts forming (which you can get Discord pings about btw). For WTM the priority given to marauders in most times will lengthen your wait somewhat (unless the situation allows for going back to standard first come first serve/fleet composition need), while in TDF their rule about having no more than 5 or 6 starters in fleet at any given time will make you wait longer since you have to wait for another starter to drop (until you attain Basic skills and fit, at which point it becomes first come first serve /fleet composition needs)

Thanks for the Eve Rookies Incursions mention! Funny enough, Eve Rookies is the end result of Nova Prospect Incursions (the 2nd post). Unfortunately we just couldn’t get the community going when it was under NPI for a lot of reasons, but the biggest was it was impossible to have a set schedule. And of course the leader, Princess Abbie quit early this year.

Shortly after he quit, I had created www.everookies.com. Around March when the big groups made the agreement to take turns popping MOM (the end boss for incursions that ends a focus) I was approached and asked to try to get NPI up and running again. However since the website was doing well, I decided to rebrand the incursions as Eve Rookies Incursions.

In 10 months we’ve gone from running 1x a week to a minimum of 3x. We’ve gone from leadership having to heavily box to get enough to run to often only having 1 or 2 leadership being able to join a fleet. We’ve been able to run a 2nd fleet several times and gone from only earning about 70m an hour to a consistant output of about 90m an hour due to regularly having 2 or more bastion ships show up. And, we still have those new to incursion folks showing up to sit in our handout praxis to see if they even like this type of PVE!

And of course, I do run other events for Eve Rookies. Kshal, my main, is part of Fun Inc which is a big part of the NPSI community. So I run rookie pvp fleets which are just as chill as the incursion fleets. Great place to try new roles (even FCing) and make all the mistakes one tends to make because the absolute worst that can happen is you blow up a 10m dessie. I’ve also started doing pveVP fleets (gate ratting, null or low anomolies, event sites, ect) where we’re doing PVE stuff but are set up to pvp if the oppertunity presents itself. All of this is free (ships often provided), no strings attached fun. No need to be part of the Eve Rookies corp.

Oh, and Eve Rookies is going to start working with another new group called the Abyssal Divers for all of the Abyssal needs of our rookies. ;-D
