Regarding the current event’s exploration path the current event track requires 900 pts to finish, not including whatever is added during the last week.
The initial two goals, “warp-in” and “Hack 1”, will give you 50 pts total. And you can enter the two combat site types once for 10 pts each. So I’ll take 70pts off the total. After that you get a measly 10 pts for successfully hacking 3 data nodes after the initial two goals.
900 - 70 = 830 pts remaining
830/10 = 83 sites worth of nodes
83x3 = 249 successful red core hacks. RIP newbros.
On top of this, only half the sites are viable to progress the event goals and you’re competing with others (maybe not if nobody is bothering to do it the event). Again, this is not even to complete it. This is just the first phase.
Does this seem a little extra to you? Because it feels kind of ridiculous to me. Is this for retired senior citizens with nothing better to do but scan and hack from sunup to sundown?
Is anyone even bothering? What do you think about the combat site requirements?
This is barely 3 sites per day for the duration of the event and they’re super abundant in LS. Typical explorers hack a lot more every day.
I don’t think they’re meant for newbros - level 3 sig and red hacks - but T3 exploration boosters are very cheap this year.
Nope! Last year I was able to blitz this event in a week with only casual hacking.
Class 1 biocybernetic incidents can be easily done with average skills and any of the T1 combat frigates so they’re better suited for newbros. They’re also very abundant in HS.
I dont do the event to complete the bar for the rewards. I do the sites for the isk. So far in 2 days ( maybe 2 hrs a day ) i have made tons of isk in loot from the combat sites. Not including the skins and skinr stuff.
To make it go faster, I’ve been switching between the Crimson Harvest Network Node sites (hacking) and the Crimson Gauntlet sites (combat)… Basically I’m doing about 1/4 combat and 3/4 hacking despite the fact that there’s actually a lot more combat sites available…
I’m running in a High Sec Island pocket of 3 systems using my T3 Loki Cruiser… First I scan each system for the event hacking sites, run those along with all Data, Relic and Deepflow Rift sites… That usually gives time for more sites to spawn…
If no more sites spawn within that pocket, I’ll refit to run some combat sites… After running a couple of combat sites, more Cosmic Signatures have spawned so I go back to exploration mode and repeat the process…
As for competition, there’s about a dozen other players in that pocket, about half dozen of them running the level 1 and level 2 Biocybernetic combat sites… I keep seeing the Beacons for those sites pop up in the Overview and every once in a while a Tetrimon Base Beacon will show up as well… I haven’t seen any Crimson Gauntlet Beacons show up in the Overview until I warp to one… I’m probably the only one running those sites which is a good reason why there’s plenty of them available…
For hacking I think there’s probably about 3 or 4 of us running the Blood Raider sites since I constantly see Tetrimon Network Nodes available in scans…
Other than that, I’m spending a few hours each day running the event, currently about 2/3rds complete with the Agency Event Points and will probably have it completed in the next few days…
That assumes you started day one and did this every day without fail. It also ignores all the sites of the opposite side. So if we assume an average of 50% each it would need to double the amount you actually hack to 6 sites (or 18 hacks) per day. Nobody in their right mind is ignoring the other side’s nodes because isk is isk, skins are skins, etc. This also is not including whatever the last week will add and this is successful hacks only. Node losses to competition aren’t factored in either. Just finding a site isn’t enough. And not everyone is going to start on day one. They at least lowered the hack difficulty, but they should have increased the pts to 20 like they did with combat sites.
Friend, I got some news for you. You’re not a casual. You should be able to do that as a casual. Unless they start giving the permanent rewards in 3’s, any given event should be able to be completed by 3 toons minimum. But this is not going to be casually done in 7 days. This was even more so when I first made the thread and all the hacks with red cores.
They are 10 minutes to complete, right? But they are everywhere. The exploration sites give half as much credit and can take 10 minutes to hours to find depending on luck. Would I be correct to assume the combat sites give more isk because of the multiple extraction shuttles?
The tract rewards are garbage for sure, but it’s the principle of the matter.
Why can’t they give apparel like witches’ hats, vampire fang tattoos, Frankenstein’s Monster facial augments or anything else novel and seasonal. This is a Halloween event rather it’s directly stated or not.
Casual meaning that I hacked the sites as I ran into them, as opposed to specifically looking for them. And you can’t go anywhere without tripping on them seriously… Also last year there were more points from hacking IIRC as you had some just from entering the site.
In my experience, the hacking sites are more ISK
Yeah, I finished this year on one character in one weekend by running Class 2 biocybernetic incidents within 5 jumps of Jita while watching Netflix on my main screen. It’s completely possible to do it casually.
Ah, LAST YEAR. Overlooked that part. Previous years were much better. This isn’t last year though, which is why I made the thread. You also got more points per hacking goal last year if I recall correctly.
No, it isn’t. I can’t speak on combat, but I was specifically speaking about the exploration sites. Taking a quote about exploration and placing it out of order after a comment about combat sites doesn’t change the subject it addressed. There is no way you can casually hack roughly 500 nodes over a weekend (because you’re not exclusively finding just the one side’s sites). If you did 500 you’re not casual; not over week, much less a weekend. 71 hacks a day is not casual. Not to mention extremely lucky to boot.
It can take hours to find and complete 7 sites of your chosen side. And I’m not talking about exploration in high population areas. A person with a job, family and a life doesn’t have time to explore for hours upon hours every day without fail.
You can just scan like any other day and loot the sites when you come across them and get loot. Far more than the reward tract offers. Got like 1.6+B easy in Overseer Sabik Vials and Cybernetic Neural Lattices. That doesn’t even include SKINS, SKINr patterns/nanocoating, boosters, accelerators, Tetrimon warclones, condensers and other items. Even got a Hypercatabollic Clone Tissue.
The reward tract is garbage. The notion that anyone cares about anything on there is laughable. There are no rewards worth getting so far. It’s the principle of the matter, as the OP relates specifically to the reward tract. Put some skill points into reading comprehension.
Typical contrarian water carrier whining for the sake of whining on behalf CCP about any valid criticism.
Well, I picked the Order of Tetrimon so I can only speak about the Blood Raider sites…
CCP recently lowered the difficulty level of the Crimson Harvest Network Node Hacking sites making it easier to complete them…
Since I find those sites all the time, I think the spawn rate is basically the same… However in my opinion it also seems like the loot table was lowered…
Anyway, the change was probably done so Alpha players doing the Hacking sites could complete the event…
That was the most pathetic comeback ever. You must have really felt put in your place. Smart enough to know when your outmatched and beat, but not smart enough to walk away with any semblance of dignity.
