Can get up to 5 scouts. But an Orca can take them. Of course so can a Skiff, a Porpoise should also and a combat proc probably can even.

Yeah, actually I remember well seeing more numerous squads, on the citadels.
and will be larger soon too with additions of warp disrupting to the mix

How about this: -
Increase the ore hold by 25%, increase the mining bonus for drones by 3%, decrease the fleet hanger to the size to that of a jet can and have the drones only drop the ore into the fleet hanger.
Mining yield up, ore storage up - it 's a win win - the only people who could object to this would be the AFK miners.
It should be no different than the process a Rorq pilot + Hulk gang goes through, tho most of the Orcas I see mining donāt have any barges with them anyway - so no harm no foul.
Not all ships, even not all mining ones, have a fleet hangar. Would drones drop the ore into a normal hold for them? Or still into the ore hold, which then would raise a question why it is not so for Orcas?
Note that I am not an AFK miner.
I donāt like the mining yield up.
The orca is already a good mining ship.
This would make the proc/skiff completely useless.

Yes, drone would only use the fleet hanger if it was available (*excavators would still do the ore hold thing but a Rorq with drones would have them feed the fleet hanger)
In this thread people have taken pains to explain that the Orca is a command ship than can use drones to mine. - If you wanted to be pedantic you could say the miners Ore hanger acts like a fleet hanger without the sharing - To make everything fit nicely into some mining schema, add the ability to share the miners ore hold & then Orca pilot could drag ore from them - an extreme change when the proposal was to put off AFK miners.
Yield would still be less than a proc/skiff, yet the Orca would be a better mining ship.
Unfortunately you couldnāt easily AFK mineā¦ but then I donāt really about care thatā¦ Do you ?

Iām saying that the yield of a single orca(24.8 mĀ³/s ATM) should be lower than the yield of a single unboosted proc(25.6 mĀ³/s).
ATM proc is higher than orca by 3.2% Itās very close and they should not change.

While it would combat afk mining itās an arbitrary complication that will simply confuse people as it follows different rules to the rest of the game.
Also note your change makes DSTs great afk miners.
There are far easier ways to combat afk than confusing rules changes that arenāt consistent.
I wouldnāt say DST would make great AFK miners
No drone bonus + lot less tank ( remember one advantage of the Orca is that it costs a lot to gank one, DST would be easy to kill ) .
But if it goes into the fleet hanger first now the DST has a huge mining bay.
Law of unintended consequences. You canāt just mess with the rules for the sake of one thing without breaking others.

So you said there was a better way to combat the fleets of AFK mining Orcas roaming belts in Hi-Sec - What was it?
Paper thin? DSTās have 300k + EHP. I can get a shiny one up to like 800k EHPā¦
