Man may be im an idiot too… sometimes im having hesitations how to answer thigs… defend or not defend … it says griefing in this forum forbidden but still yet its happening and frief posts are not removing… but if you answer or keep engaging than you get warning… now im far more carefull but i need a more solid guide or code to understand because feels very unreliable and many things are left to isd or gm s conscience … as long as we dont kniw the major columns how we navigate in this ?
Some cases when i see someone under unfair treatment or attacked i cant hold my mouth and defend i have nearly little to no tolerance to unfair situations,
Brace yourself, both in the forums and in-game. I too am new. Difference is I’ve been gaming since playing Trek on mainframes via paper type into a teletype in '78. However, this is my first MMO as I’ve avoided them.
This game is brutal and it seems both the players and CCP are in it for the brutality… not just in lost ISK or ships but in personal brutality as well.
While there are tools to enable such players there are few to enable ‘Powers for good’ so to speak. It’s apparently just the way EVE is. There appears to be very little in the way of discernment tools in who or where you can put any trust. Solo playing seems to me to be actively discouraged by design which for me is very disappointing as, even in RL, I don’t seem to mix well with others.
Yet, even with that being said, I’ve invested over $2.5K real US currency into attempting to build a modest foothold in Eden. It’s been an extremely difficult learning curve and full of ‘lessons learned’ that knocked the wind out of me. All the while learning how to accept that the game seems skewed to the players that specialize in being abhorrent people being abhorrent to the other people that aren’t like them. Which is a hell of lot of reality in a fantasy universe.
Having survived this long Eve can only be seen as a successful market model.
Trust no one… which means avoiding a corp… yet without a corporation and people to have your back and teach you, you’re hosed. (Because documentation while overly abundant really sucks) . An ‘EVE for Dummies’ can’t be written as it would all change in a few months. Yet joining a corp means lost ISK(taxes) to the corp and not really knowing if they have your back, as well as limiting your opportunities to expand in many directions.
As has been said of Eve in many places, “The only way to win is not to play” yet here I am heavily cash invested trying anyway surrounded by ppl I wouldn’t have a drink with.
I guess that’s why it’s a successful platform.
Common sense, reason, clear-headedness… Do we now need detailed and itemized instructions to use our brain or decide what’s worth answering to or engaging with?
If you’re a decent person it goes without saying that you know how to behave when faced with sexism, discrimination and threats.
We shouldn’t need a thought police or a road-map to actions to take in ridiculous situations.
Then those are your choices. Take responsibility for your actions.
@tutucox_Khamsi I’m not ignoring you, lol
reality and what we see does not fit your beautifull theory unfortunately . And as a result a new player having hard times to bring frame and see the edges
I sincerely hope that wasn’t on this your very recent character. Throwing RL money is the wrong way to learn to play EvE - whether it be mining or pvp’ing.
No. If you are in the right corp your buddies WILL have your back. At least the ones that live outside of hisec. Too much depends on it for all involved.
Good corporations use that tax money to improve YOUR game experience by providing services and fail-safes (like srp’s), on a scale you can’t do as a solo player. The total is larger than the sum of its parts.
The most brutal platform I played is the Forex Market. Many Players their lost a lot of money, livelihood and broken family. This game is hobby and players action in the game should not be taken seruiosly.
It is if you don’t know how much time you have left in RL and don’t want to ‘grind it out’ making big rocks into little rocks and little rocks into pebbles. – and really could care less about PvP.
I play Eve solo have done for nearly ten years, only interaction I have with other players is on the forums/reddit etc etc. I have invested less than £100 apart from the sub I pay every month. If played right Eve is quite cheap, you just need to be patient it’s not an instant gratification sort of game.
im a solo player but i LOOOOVE to talk ■■■■ on local and more recently at the forums
i dont like to have a boss
eve should not be work
For the record most of my cash investment is still intact. Still attempting various test strategies with it
I’m a soIo player.I love to trash talk in sivala and uedama local because they are not fast enough to target lock My ship.
Sometimes when I get bored I go out in my pod and bump mining ships in the belts, for shits and giggles usually drunk ones. Or drop dead bodies outside stations out in null sec thats also a laugh.
LMAO! Thats wicked. I like that. I’ll drop the body of my first gank victim out of a station in Jita,
