You can’t drop skill points… and most of it is in in that. 83mill skill points that can’t be ganked
You may not be able to drop SP, but you can lose them if you die in a t3c
And it’s also possible to convince someone to share some of that SP with you in exchange for not being shot!
The numbers don’t add up, though. $2,500 for 83 million SP? That’s some very inefficient injecting.
Let me guess, you lean toward the industrial side of things?
Issues with trust are much less common, and the camaraderie is much more pronounced and intense in PvP-centric groups. Kind of a “stand by your brother” thing. Out of all the PvP corporations I’ve been a part of or led, I can’t really think of any major instances of lack of enough trust to at least field a faction-fitted battleship with decent implants, and not worry about someone stabbing you in the back. Now, every once in a while there will be a shady person, but the vibes they give off will clue you in on the potential danger long before they become a problem. Those people usually get found out and kicked quickly.
Reputation is very important in high-end PvP.
You can trust people, but not with your stuff.
I disagree. Just don’t trust people with more stuff than is rational. A few billion ISK is a very cheap litmus test for the strength of a friendship, considering how much more you can lose in other ways if that person turns out to be a traitor.
I don’t trust my own alts with stuff, why the hell would I trust a stranger with it?
My trading alt is shady as feck and would sell granny for a profit.
Shut up and give me ten billion.
Give me 5 first, and I might double it.
Yup industry. And yes some significant errors in injection. Didn’t know about Eve Marketer and where to sell plex and buy injectors. So took a significant hit there. But I have 3 structures to put up somewhere and a small fleet of nice ships including an ORCA, Obelisk, a couple Viator’s and a Proteus… But I confess my fav is my Claw. The rest of the investments in BPO’s to back up all of the above and a ton of BPC’s from garbage sale contracts.
Theoretically I should be able to grow with careful utilization of the above and being in position to lose any of it… Theoretically. …
We shall see.
Just don’t turn into that guy who lost 500b while transporting BPO’s
have fun being wardecced if you put those structures up
Right!? I read about that one. I’m foolish… not stupid.
Vulnerability hours as a single person corp is challenging to figure out. I’ve read enough to know if someone wants to take 'em out they’re gonners.
You really should run your plans by experienced players, because they’ll be able to point out mathematical inefficiencies, unnecessary risk, etc.
My recommendation, though, is to draw down your PvE activities to a point where you can sustain yourself without being burned out, and try out the other major aspect of the game. If you want friendships and fulfilling social interaction, that’s the only way. You will not find it from other industrialists.
By the way, I’ve successfully defended my war HQ 3 times essentially by myself over the past year. Once by hiring mercenaries to help me out, once by making a deal with the attackers, and once by smearing an enemy fleet in my Hyperion. You’ll just have to come to terms with the fact that owning a structure has additional costs aside from modules and fuel.
Being wardecced is less about losing your structures and more about being camped in hisec without concord to save you.
I appreciate the advice. I’m not in this for the friendships and social interaction though. I’m in it for the complex mechanics… They are like cocaine to my brain.
I’ve been trying to figure out how / where to hire mercs. Not getting anywhere digging. Any suggestions?
Noir. Mercenary Group and BLACKFLAG. are good places to start.
My corporation used to do mercenary work too, but all my friends have long since quit the game. That said, I can still provide consultation if you ever need it.
LOL… MB Photographer owes me a billion from the bet he lost. D’you think he’ll put his money where his mouth is?
I don’t think he has a billion.
