Someone spamming you is violent. He is trying to force his opinions on you.
Someone claiming his opinion and not taking yours into account is violent. He is saying you as a person is less valuable than him.
People are often used to that violence. Does not make it less of a violence.
What you don’t get is that people even go to create several accounts on the forum when the previous one they used to spam their nonsense is blocked.
Let me tell you a little story. My old company here in Japan came up with drug testing, which is not a common thing in Japan. But that company is full of westerners, and westerners have become used to the fascism that is taking people’s tissue (DNA) to submit for testing as if they have even been formally charged with a crime (they haven’t). This was sprung on us at a meeting as an “oh BTW we are taking tissue samples today for drug testing”. There were maybe 25 employees there. Everyone was silent. I said no. Not happening. Not doing it. I looked around the room for others to also refuse. No one. I asked if I would lose my job for refusing. Was told no. (there is no legal authority for a company to do this in Japan). So I tried to get others to also refuse. No one.
So what happened there? Authority shows up with a little surprise and everybody caves. They fork over their rights like a pack of sheep. What do you want me to say about such people? That they are brave little lions on the inside?
I don’t even do drugs (unless you remember that alcohol (ethanol) is a drug (psychoactive drug). But I am pretty sure some of those people smoked marijuana (with my blessing. Its their body).
People here in this forum are fond of saying HTFU in response to many things in the game. I wish people would HTFU in response to authority and if any weakness makes me sick, its that one. Its the worst kind of cowardice there is.
I am actually usually pretty nice. But I definitely cannot be nice about what happened there above. That was disgusting. And its a huge part of the reason why this forum has gone the direction it has.

Yes. This is psychological violence, and its NOT okay, not without EXPLICIT consent, same as physical violence.

I get that. I know some people will use everything in the arsenal to troll and be a nuisance. That’s why I think that ignoring them is the best we can do and the worst that can happen to a troll since trolling is a plea for attention or a way to bug people.

I don’t think we’re restricted, though. Players can steal, lie, cheat… which I’m not judging, if the game mechanics and devs made it so then I have no problem with it.
I wholeheartedly agree with “can’t have heroes without villains”, it’s so logical that it needs not be mentioned.
