Well, it looks like the guy was on a station, so he probably died to PvP. I’m guessing that if you didn’t see it, it either only shows for some people (i.e. they’re ab testing it), or they removed it due to the backlash.
You would think if it was actually removed they could have apologized and said so, considering the overwhelmingly negative community reaction.

CCP got every right to do what they want with their game .You are the consumer .The only problem i see here is the “Recover your loss & get revenge!” .It is absolutely false advertising since the player wont get his ship back ,he will have to sell the plex and buy his ship back if the money he gets are enough ,and that is pretty low effort from ccp part .If u want to get more money from your product try investing some money on the marketing team ,people that get scummed get mad .They surely wont go full ballistic over 4.99$ , but you lost them for ever .So i can say that dev team is not doing that great marketing team is a joke .There are a lot of opportunities for ccp to make money , but ccp has lost touch with the modern world .Scarcity and the constant nerfs has so much potential , but ccp goes for baby steps .The model of buy sell plex belongs to the past , 500 plex gives you rly a small amount of isk and has very little buying power in the market . Hyperlink has so much potential ,people could buy items directly from ccp and get those items redeemed at your hangar ,if their prices are low they would increase money making from players .For example you like industry you want to build something and missing a component you can directly buy it from ccp and have it at your hangar ,that is the way for milking the player base.You want to pvp you have no isk you have no time to grid for 2 hours to have isk to buy a ship and go pew pew u could use the simulation fitting window and buy your fit with your credit card(that is the way to milk your player base , and people would actually enjoy paying to skip the boring pve content making few isk). Seen that adverb does not make me feel that ccp is doing that,it makes me think ccp is a scum company or their market team is a joke .

There is a social contract at work: CCP does what is in the best interest of their players, players fork over money to CCP.
When you begin to squeeze blood from the rock though because of a litany of bad decisions, the consumer speaks with their wallets, and they are.
They’re simply taking them somewhere else.

You are a poor ass gamer whining in the forum of a niche game. Espousing views that you think are from a place of… well…whatever your ego is telling you.
PA is a successful company with a ton of employees that have the collective wisdom and intelligence to know exactly what they are doing with their games in order to maximize profit. Successful enough with attracting players to their IP that they could afford to offer nearly half a billion dollars for this piddly little niche property.
They can lose every single player over a year old and will still be laughing all the way to the bank with a new player base 10X the size of what we currently have in an EVE that will be unrecognizable to those of us playing it now.
Does it totally suck that this is the game’s future?
Sure does. But get used to it.

Numbers are fine other wise ccp would be more active , check what happened when they introduced black out .Patch after patch was nerfs ■■■■ ups etc and people still play the game .Player base is there for 1 reason only to enjoy their precious free time . The battle of bringing new players have been lost .Bringing new content in the game …just read the patch notes .You mentioned

I can agree with that, can not say the same for ccp ,i see luck of imagination from marketing team ,with low communication with dev team .I totally agree with your post other than that , but i think we will see the hammer of pa on ccp pretty soon .
This is probably the most galaxy brain badtake so far in this thread. Do you know how many IPs PA has shut down and studios they have shuttered?
They’re a pump and dump company. As soon as the cow that is EVE Online stops producing milk, they just slaughter the cow.
The entire point of this thread and many others is the community doesn’t want to see that happen. Wild to think about, but a lot of us like to play the game and want to see it keep going strong.
You and the couple other posters who just go “lmao capitalism will fix it” clearly aren’t capable of seeing the forest through the trees, which is obvious by your constant, incessant derailing of every thread on this topic.
