This is not nonsense. Its exactly what people will be seeing and what they will remember. Nobody have to buy anything anyway, that moment, but its the best moment, reaching to a player in need.

I never wrote that it is the case that most of them buy them for PLEX. But, I wonder how you make a lot of ISK as a new player? It is different that when you know a lot, judging from my experience.

The ad blocker would be released without testing and would be very buggy. Most of the ads would still get through.
CCP ought to use in-game billboards to try to sell the booster packs.

No, the problem is not people misinterpreted the deal.
The problem is marketing of buying PLEX to sell for isk as the solution of someone’s first loss sets the tone for EVE for them. It’s an attempt from CCP to set buying isk as the standard solution for loss - effectively marketing it as p2w.
Marketing, especially marketing targeted to new players, should be about selling them “the vision” of EVE. A lot of people don’t feel this is the vision they subscribed for.

Who the hell would wan’t to play a game where it screams to you that you are loosing money, we play games to get away from real life.
Already extracted 120mil of sp and gave away all my isk ■■■■ this game.
I agree, I said that as one of the two major issues people have brought up so far.
By far it is more a missed opportunity. They could have sent people to the Acadamy, they could have helped them understand what to do next, instead, they sold them a way to get isk fast, but bill it as if it was pay to win.
To me it isn’t so much skeezy as just a horribly missed opertunity.

Apparently it’s real. Both Brisc and Mike (CSM) have said that they have talked to CCP about it, and CCP Swift said on reddit that he was forwarding our concerns to the relevant parties.
