Kinda weird how there’s always some guy, joined a few months ago, who figures he’s got the one true take on how EVE works and what will fix it. And with guarantees, no less!
Like it or lump it, PvP anywhere, anywhen is part of what makes EVE. It could use some tweaking sure, but more along the lines of “mentally preparing players for the fact it’s going to happen and how to deal with it” than the “run away with your tail tucked between your legs and demand CCP make it stop” variety.
If you don’t like PvP, you flubbed your research on which game to sign up to.
After you play a while and maybe grow a pair, you’ll find that PvP in high sec (or anywhere) isn’t that big a deal. And I say this as someone who’s often considered to be on the “anti-PvP” side of things. Mostly caused by the lack of regard I have for a certain crowd of so-called “high-sec PvPers”.
I wouldn’t say “no” to a PvP cease-fire in high sec any more than I said “no way” to Blackout in null. But it would be a waste of time because the results are a foregone conclusion and easily predictable. Just like they were with Blackout.
There’s a thing called “zkillboard” for EVE. You should probably check it out.
Well, post on your 2003 character then. Until you do, you’re a noob with less than a year in game. And one who’s apparently gone 20 years without figuring out how EVE works…
OK, fine. Make hisec 100% safe.
In return, nerf the absolute crap out of hisec income.
No Incursions.
Reduce ore and combat anomaly availability by 98%.
Remove Data, Relic and Event sites entirely
Only level 1 missions.
Reduce PI materials by 90% and increase the npc poco taxes by 50%.
You want no risk? Fine and dandy. You also sacrifice all reward.
Unless I am not catching the joke on a joke posting spree in reddit…hek is a .6 now? Dotlan is not showing it but I don’t know its api pull scheduling. any hek folk can confirm? I’d ask in reddit but I am riding out 2 day waiting lol.
Haven’t logged in to check but if true…its a bit safer there for some. There’d be 1 small win.
Kind of torn on it. It was a nice to have an empire hive of scum and villainy. Fly fast, align quick and hek was fine. Bring in 1+ billion isk rides…well know what you are doing or be taught some new lessons maybe lol.
It’s a question of risk vs reward.
If there’s no risk and still big rewards, that will massively distort the game economy.
Right now, I think hisec is too prosperous for the minimal risks involved. Especially given that all the risks in hisec can be completely mitigated by anyone with half a brain.
We took different economics classes. The question is, with the new unparalleled wealth being created in HS, what would people spend it on? Doesn’t wealth create a need to consume? Try looking at it from a different angle, or with a different lens.
