To our friends in the State: Who did you work for?

Just think of it this way! It’s like shareholder calls, except everyone only has a single share! Why a janitor still has as much say as, said, a constellation-level logistics coordinator or a reactor systems engineer, I don’t know, but the Gallente ways are mysterious.

BUT HOW WILL STATE GREAT AGAIN NOW?!

Given the success, or rather lack thereof, of some of their adherents in Intaki recently, I suppose the quantity of Ishukone capsuleers remains no real indication of their actual quality.

What is voting?

So, you know how some emergent systems will do mass simulations to determine possible output of a range of input, then go with the ‘consensus best’ for the input and output? It’s like that, but with meatbags and money.

Oh! It’s a neural network where people are the neurons. How fascinating. Someone should sell them a computer; if you eliminate the people you could seriously reduce the expense of elections.

Still though, crowd sourced government decision making. How about that?

There was some very ancient work, I never read it myself but I’ve heard of it, nth hand, that was supposedly a story about some computer that choose the most reluctant leader. This leader was chosen from those also showed the best leadership qualities. I don’t know how that well that would actually work and I haven’t been able to locate any current translations of this story. It might not be any worse than how democracy is currently practiced in the Federation, but it’s hard to say. I don’t know if it’s been done. This only being a story and all.

I don’t think the computer was a neural network either. From what I understand this story predated even that concept.

While democracy is generally rather ridiculous, in their defense there’s some differences between direct democracies and representative democracies that should in theory at least slightly limit the damage done by the collective stupidity of the masses.

Unfortunately, theory and practice are vastly different things.

State protectorate. The only meaningful freedom is financial freedom you gallente fools.

From my days as a DUSTer, I found that I can Get.It.Done best with Ishukone designed weapons as opposed to Kaalakiota designed weapons.

I’m wondering about the lone CBD employee who took up capsuleering instead of a monomanic focus on fiscally responsible accounting, high-efficiency long-chain logistics management, and zero-defect manufacturing.

Zero defect manufacturing?

Who is this wizard and how do I hire them?

They’re called “Sebiestor” and it’s actually rather simple. Anything you’d point at as a “defect” is actually entirely intended and a feature. If you didn’t want your toaster oven warp capable, you should have been more precise in your specifications.

The circumstances of my “parent” corporation are, at best, murky. My whole existence in the State was the result of an extreme version of practicality, but that is an entirely other topic altogether. Because of the ties of my childhood employer to Sukuuvestaa, I was brushed under the umbrella of SuVee once I gained autonomy for forging my own path. I didn’t mind working for SuVee, and I’m sure they didn’t really care to have me as an unofficial citizen. I did my work, and I did it well. That was good enough for them to swipe aside the complicated paperwork surrounding my origins.

Discovery of my compatibility with the capsule offered me a new lease on life in the State. As a capsuleer, I was not bound to remain a citizen with SuVee. However, I still maintained ties with SuVee as they are all I had ever known. It wasn’t until some time into my life as a capsuleer that a slick, grey-haired Deteis offered a welcoming hand to join his corporation. Only after that did I formally apply to join Ishukone as a citizen and employee. And there I have been content to remain.

As for describing life in Ishukone, I have found it thoroughly enjoyable. Contrary to the nationalistic and sometimes xenophobic view of citizens from other megas, I rather enjoy interacting with those outside the State. I speak for a fair amount of my Ishukone colleagues when I say they do as well. I am a man all about opportunities, and there are no greater number of them than when you turn outward and open yourself up to new possibilities. The citizens of Ishukone are good, hard working people. We share the same vision as citizens from other megas on building a healthy and thriving Caldari State - we only have some small differences in how we go about achieving that ultimate dream. Differences which have, at times, caused a great deal of flak to be directed towards us. Such criticism won’t stop us from making the best decisions for our home, however. The legacy of Gariushi guides us to keep striving.

I found my way to the Ishukone Corporation later in my life. After all I had emigrated from the Federation during my middle aged years.

So I never technically served a MegaCorp before the completion of my capsuleer training, but I do consider myself a steadfast friend and citizen of Ishukone today.

I was batched as an orbital security specialist for Peace and Order Unit in Suvee. After a young life of service to them, they unfortunately tried to flimflam me into signing a prohibitive agreement on my graduation as a capsuleer and I departed to a life of freedom and independence.

I briefly worked as an independent contractor for Wiyrkomi until the Wiyrkomi Honor Guard was disbanded and reformed into Pyre Falcon Security and Defence under the Aegis of Kaalakiota Corporation.

I loved working for KK, despite the Heth debacle, and purchased my citizenship. Now I’m an investor and citizen of Kaalakiota, married to a Wiyrkomi citizen. Our son is maintaining his option on both citizenships - pending his graduation.

As a capsuleer I’ve killed with weapons designed from all over the cluster. It’s not about the weapon but the intentions wielded behind it. I’ve killed with a datapad stylus rammed through an eye socket and into a person’s brain, I never cared much as to who made it, but he likely cared a lot as to why I did so. Well, before he was dead anyway.

Some of the disenfranchised might have their own thoughts on the matter.

I’ve been recognized enough to be drafted into Heth’s folly, nine years ago, and spend a few years patrolling an ice ball in the middle of Nowhere, Black Rise. For the sake of heiian, you see.

The POW tag the other side was kind enough to issue me had a nice fat CALDARI stamped on it as well.

I liked both of these better than being an “invalid poll option, please remove.”
